No matter who you are, no matter who you THINK you are, no matter where you are, when somebody makes a request, no matter what, NEVER say, "I'll see what I can do."
Even if you mean it, say something else that at least SOUNDS different.
Try something more direct:
"Sorry, I can't." If necessary, then politely explain why.
or, if you are unsure, or if you have to "see what you can do,":
"I think I can." If there is a stipulation, then politely explain that; and, if you realise later that you cannot do it, then go up to the person and let him/her know (this is classy)--heck, if you cannot leave your booth, then announce it on the mic (THAT is why you have that tool).
People might be disappointed with you for not providing what they want but, at least, they will not HATE you for lying to them.
