As a favor, I'm providing music for a 50th anniversary to good friends. That's all they want. When I went to the venue to test their Bluetooth system, my phone connected fine and the music played well on their sound system.

My phone asked for the password. But my laptop did not and could not connect. It could see it, but not connect to it.

I'm thinking my laptop needs some kind of boost device. It's only 20 feet away from the transmitter.

Any ideas?

If I could find an music playing app that would mix songs with a fade AND show tracks by genre, I'd use my Amazon Fire HD or Samsung Galaxy tablet.

Bluetooth devices can only pair to one device at a time (if you're phone was paired, that would explain why your computer could see it but not connect) - it's not like WiFi. Believe it or not, sometimes the version of bluetooth also makes a difference.

Personally, I wouldn't be using BT.

If you had an iPad, there are a few .. not sure about Android ..

F Bluetooth! I don't Bluetooth anything,,,, I find it unreliable, And I am under the assumption that it doesn't transmit a full range of audio frequency? I find the cable sounds better on my bluetooth device when I do an a/b comparison.
