I have a 3 year old Samsung S9 that has a battery that barely lasts a full day. I love this phone as it has a 256gb micro card that holds all of my PURCHASED music - 24,000 tracks.

Problem is all new phones no longer have a slot for an SD micro card, so I won't be able to have my music with me...although I started using You Tube music a few months ago.

I've looked for a new mp3 player with a high capacity, but they only exist for over $300.00.

So my current only option is to just use the S9 as a music player and get a new phone that will play only my streaming music.

Are there any cloud sites where I can keep my PURCHASED music and access it all with a new phone? I tried to d/l all my music to the You Tube cloud, but it only grabbed a few hundred tracks.....ugh.

I was looking in to the cloud for a project I was considering a while back and this seemed like the best spot it was about $20 Canadian for a Terabyte per year. You could access it but I'm not sure about playing it from the site itself

From what I recall of Android, you can still copy music to it (internal memory vs sd card) - just have to plug it in to your computer. iPhone is similar, just you manage it through iTunes.

Correct, works like a USB or ext hard drive, drag and drop/copy/pasta and go.

Using a Samsung S21.

The Samsung S20 family is still available and has the SD card slot. So do a few other Samsung models. Here is a list I found of phones with expandable memory.

I already have my music on a micro SD card in my S9.

Jeff, I'm not an Apple fan. Are there Google cloud options?

I'm an Android and You Tube guy. Even cancelled cable a few weeks ago and now use You Tube TV, Netflix, Paramount +, HBO Max, Hulu. Amazon Prime and Disney +.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions!. At least I know now I have options. I guess a separate stand alone mp3 player is out of the picture.

I don't need the latest and greatest. I'd be happy with the S20 or even the S10E...which is still available.
I didnt either, I was perfectly happy with my S9 that had the ext SD card slot and ext headphone jack, but the battery was expanding outward.

I just noticed that the S20 and many new Samsungs no longer have the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The new Samsung A52 5G though has the headphone and the microSD slot. You can always get a USB-C to headphone adapter for under $10 but this means you can't charge your phone and use the headphone jack simultaneously.

Jim I should have specified it's IDrive not ICloud. ICloud IS an Apple product

Check these options out. These seem to be low prices too.

7th generation Apple IPOD Touch for $180

The decomposition is often the result of overheating or over-discharging the battery.
It was rare that the battery percentage would drop below 50% I don't live on my phones , I was using my old Blackberry for an alarm clock when I go my S9 and the battery did it too after a few years, and that phone just stayed plugged all the time with no use other waking me up.

I thought over charging could cause issues too.
