In my continuing sage of myDMX Go problems, I guess I'm going to take Steve's suggestion and just buy an ipad, in the hopes that the interface will actually connect consistently. Would someone double-check me, will this one work? It's the cheapest, new iPad that runs at least ios10.

Same model I have, but I have 128Gb.

A similar open-box model is available on eBay for $220 .. Apple 9.7" iPad 6th Gen 32GB Space Gray Wi-Fi MR7F2LL/A 2018 Model 190198648952 | eBay - (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-9-7-iPad-6th-Gen-32GB-Space-Gray-Wi-Fi-MR7F2LL-A-2018-Model/142828414030)

hate to see you throw more money at this...i understand your frustration. but i worry this may not be the answer.... keep your receipt... its bizarre to me that half of us are having no issues and half are.... bare in mind im using an old samsung...and having zero issues.

An option would be to borrow an iPad from someone to see if it minimizes the issues.

I think I'd prefer to buy a new one from Best Buy. If it still has problems, I'll just return the ipad and ditch mydmx go. My assumption is the radio is weak on the unit and likely on my kindle. I suspect tablets with stronger radios probably have less interference issues and I just happened to pick a lemon of a model (Kindle). The product is nice, when it works. I think it's worth another shot at least.

Hey Steve, I picked up a basic ipad, 32gb and have myDMX Go installed with all my fixtures setup. I haven't tested it out as the fixtures and dongle are buried in my van. Are there any ios settings (i.e. power saver, etc) that you'd suggest I turn on/off? Fingers crossed that tomorrow will go smoothly.

Nah, too much trouble. Besides, I always have my kindle to fall back on (well, if it works). The setup seems to have gone smooth and my fixtures were already in the main library. Much easier than the initial setup on Android.

I turn off the Auto Lock (under Display & Brightness) during events. That was the only change.

Fingers crossed, so far so good. Everything came up and we'll be starting dance in about 30 minutes. Can't really give you details but the ipad version seems a tad different from the android version. It doesn't seem to want to play well with the colorstrips. I may end up ditching those for some chinese strips that hopefully will be more compatible with my chinese uplights. The moving heads are working well. I mapped them to individual addresses (was using just 2 addresses before) and everything seems to be playing well.

Spoke too soon. While the connection issue wasn't AS bad, it's still a pretty flakey interface. Had a bunch times where the app reported "waiting on interface". Had one stretch where everything went dark and it took me about 30-45 seconds and several interface reboots to get it working again. The ios app also acts a little different than the android app. I'm going to keep working with it but planning to also get out my other myDMX box and windows app and try to learn it. This is ridiculous. How could a major manufacturer put a piece of shyte out like this?
