Does anybody have any idea what that means and how to fix it? I'm about an hour before my gig and I have ZERO dmx and I left my old dmx dongle at home. This is NOT good. I hate when gear lets me down.
ah man...hate to hear it acted up...mine worked amazingly Saturday... had it on a static color for about 3 hours... hit my first preset for dancing and without hesitation it was party time!

Apparently you can connect via a USB cable with Android tablets (similar to the Sushi and others). I might hesitate since you can't then keep the tablet on a charger, so may have an issue later in the event.I posted on the myDMX Go facebook page and got several response (including our own Steve) who said to not plug the Donner transmitter, directly into the interface. Something about interference on the 2.4 signal. I'm going to try separating the two units. I also heard there may be a way to hardwire the interface to the tablet, so that's another thing I'd like to get done. It's still an amazing little device but having stress like that is definitely not cool.
As to the Donner in the myDMX Go .. it's just a thought, since both run in the 2.4GHz band .. separating might make it more stable, since it won't have to frequency hop as much as it battles the interference.
Might have been luck the first couple of times, could be the orientation of the antennae relative to each other, could have been a relatively quiet RF area with little else in that band. Either way, same with wireless mics, the more you can separate them, especially when they are a mix of receivers AND transmitters, the better. If this turns out to be interference it just doesn't make sense. The first few gigs, this thing worked perfectly (same connection). Over the next couple of gigs, it took a bit to sync up, but it wasn't bad. Last night, it just refused for 1.5 hours and then, just started working.
Rick...is your adj box near your tablet? or across the room? i started putting mine directly beside my tablet and also changed the channels on my donners (did all this during my first few practice sessions at home) it cleared up any hiccups id been having...
i keep the mydmx go stuff on the right side of my table...and the wireless mics on the left... just incase of any cross contamination

Personally, I would move the unit further from the tablet. Remember, the tablet AND the myDMX Go are both tranceivers (transmit and receive) and can easily interfere with each other. I had to move my IEM transmitter away from my wireless mic receivers .. they work in the same band and the signal would have cross-talk with the receivers.

Do you think it makes sense to mount the myDMX box onto one of my t-bars then, put a Donner transmitter on that one to feed the other t-bar and the other uplights? I've avoid that because, a few times, I've had to reboot the box (pull the power cord, put it back) to get things working. I guess I could also locate the box somewhere behind me then use a cable to jumper over to a transmitter. I hate having to monkey with placement in order to get things to work.
did u switch up the donner channel? just curious..

Anything that operates on 2.4Ghz has to compete with all the cell phones in the audience. I worked a regular gig at a theater that used a tablet PC to control a Behringer XR18 via its built-in wifi router. It was mostly reliable during performances, but would predictably crap out at intermission...The first few gigs, this thing worked perfectly (same connection). Over the next couple of gigs, it took a bit to sync up, but it wasn't bad. Last night, it just refused for 1.5 hours and then, just started working.
Never thought of that. The problem seemed to be between the app and the myDMX interface. What happens if you change the interface channel to something different, before starting the app? Will the app find it?
