Lol Contracts and paying taxes. LOL that is so funny. You already know he does neither.
All i got out of this is that he just drives to events and takes photos... he has no association with the djing aspect of things.
sorry but I do. I was just put on the shelf for a while at DJing due to my health condition. I'm much better now. I'm ready to get back to DJing. I just had to heal because I could hardly walk. I have put down the cane. I still don't feel comfortable enough about lifting heavy equipment. Still have to remember easy does it.All i got out of this is that he just drives to events and takes photos... he has no association with the djing aspect of things.
I was talking about I created the contract. Now it's about getting the details to fill in for the contract to be signed and retainer paid. So far nothing. That's my issue with how he does things. Last minute. He acts like he's this super star DJ and they need him. It's the other way around. We need their business because around here DJs are a dime a dozen. There are plenty of DJs in this area. Unlike maybe another area that there are few DJs in that area.but you said YOU MADE THE CONTRACT.
The contract should have all of the information by which to contact the client to obtain further information.

I agree with you and that's why I'm considering having a talk with him.Nothing changes if nothing chances Mix
How many years of doing the same thing
over and over again? Insane!!

So just to clarify.... you said that one of the key things you need to know before booking is the type of music they want....because as youve pointed out...you only do certain types of events with certain types of music...and yet the event YOU booked yourself...the one that gives u that "respect"... hasnt told you what music they want.Let me say this. We work together but we don't conduct business the same way.
I was contacted I believe in February or March to do a surprise 50th birthday celebration. It's for my best friends wife sister. Her daughter is giving her this surprise birthday celebration. It's over 6 months away and I know the date of the event which is Saturday October 12th and the venue is Casa Del Sol in Union, NJ. It's going to be in a small room upstairs with about 50 people. I will be the DJ. The only 2 things missing is the time for the event and the music I'm to play at the event. So I'm way ahead of the game. Understand now. That's the respect I get. I'm not trying to get info at the last minute.
He doesn't know the hours yet either, which is also 'key'.So just to clarify.... you said that one of the key things you need to know before booking is the type of music they want....because as youve pointed out...you only do certain types of events with certain types of music...and yet the event YOU booked yourself...the one that gives u that "respect"... hasnt told you what music they want.

Do you have a contract and retainer/deposit. I mean if they respect you, and you want a better crowd... you should be operating with that.Let me say this. We work together but we don't conduct business the same way.
