I see a really big resistance to getting a contract signed. It is one of the basic thing you need to do with any business. Do you watch any of the shows like Judge Judy? It always come down to a contract. I’m willing to bet they made you sign paperwork to have your event at the park.

I had one client who was having technical issues getting me back the signed contract and I told him I couldn’t show up without it.

What he did was the most creative thing that I’ve ever seen. He pulled up the contract on his laptop, Put clear tape over the signature line, signed the contract on the screen & sent a photo of it with his cell phone and sent it to me.

I don't watch Judge Judy. She's too harsh and rarely smiles. I get the point. I talked to my partner today and asked about the situation. He said he has been reaching out to the guy and he hasn't responded back. I said for him to ask for his number and he said he won't give me his number. So I give up. I will see what happens. I got one more day to celebrate and I got my focus on that besides a couple of ladies I'm talking to.

Another free event. Really please write a book on how to do free jobs and jobs you have to pay for.
I feel sorry for you. You probably have a few friends. I bet you can count them on one hand and not use up all 5 fingers.

I have many friends, they don’t expect nor would they allow me to do an event for them at no charge, they realize the investment of both time and money I have in my business and as a true friend want to compensate me for my services, the only people who have asked me to do “free” gigs are freeloaders who pretend to be my friend

Good answer, but if this had been addressed to me...

... I would have answered like this...

I only need ONE FINGER to count my friends... Let me show it to you!!![emoji1]

You get the picture...[emoji1]

So because I do not have any friends or family that ask me to do free gigs multiple times a year I must have none. Your insults are about as good as your business sense.

So, let me see if I got this straight...

Your partner books the gigs, but you can't seem to get any of the details about the event.
Then he includes you...but only to take bad pictures, and videos no one ever sees.
But sometimes you DO work as the DJ at these events...
but if the crowd isn't into your favorite music, then they are lame because they won't dance.
Sometimes, you buy new gear to DO these gigs...
even IF you don't need the gear and/or don't have the money.
But, you love being a DJ...so you'll take a job for little or no money...
and then post on ODJT about how you no longer take jobs for little or no money.
(and tell everyone else that they shouldn't)

And naturally...NONE of this is your fault.

I think "breaking up" with your partner is a great idea.
Then both of you will have no one to blame but yourselves.

Can you say RED FLAG!!!
Dude, you are being hosed by your own partner.
He is purposely keeping you in the dark, so he can control everything.
He's taking advantage of you so he can use your equipment.
(and probably keep most of the money)
I think it's time for a divorce.
