My new home karaoke rig

We have been doing a lot of karaoke at home since the pandemic started. My stereo receiver can take HDMI from one source and audio from a different source which makes it nice for karaoke. It allows me to plug the output of a mixer into the stereo. The receiver also has dual HDMI outputs. One goes to our main TV. The other goes to a 23" monitor mounted on a wheeled stand. We only need that when we have a lot of guests. I recently picked up a new dual wireless mic setup (AT System 10 Pro) because I got tired of the mic cables getting in the way. This meant I needed at add space for the receiver. I decided to get that spacing by going vertical. I made this little setup with some spare stuff lying around in the garage. The unit stores easily in the stereo cabinet when not in use but I made it so it can folded down if needed. I haven't spent much time with this yet. I'll use it a little, see how I like it and then modify accordingly. Eventually I will make it sturdier and look nicer too. So far though I think it will do the job nicely.

Yeah, I have already thought about that. I worry most about the HDMI cables and stereo cable coming out of the laptop. It creates pressure on the laptop's connectors. I prefer not to use adapters, particularly with HDMI and there isn't much of a selection of premade cables with 90 degree offsets. I was considering a wider upper shelf or some small support extensions from the shelf that would support the cables.

The 1/4" and XLR plugs coming up out of the mixer are mechanically fine but might look more pleasing for them to come out at 90 degrees. It would allow me to make the overall unit a little shorter too. However, a shorter setup would reduce the site lines and access to the mixer controls. This is a work in progress.
