wow,,,, if I had a brain I could understand most of that! LOL.... sounds like you have it down.... the "play time" of each song depends, If I am doing a "Blackout" game, I do 15 seconds to keep the game moving. The first game of the night I want to seem fast and fun, so 20 seconds.... so the middle section of the night, I do 30 seconds... The program is set for a random starting point, which mean it picks where in the song it will start. This is cool because if you are using the same game, or catalog, even if it plays the same song, it will sound a tad different because of where in the song it starts.
But this also depends on the crowd, if they seem like they are into the songs, singing along a lot I will extend it. One thing that the Jukebox Bingo game can do is change the "play time" on the fly, for example, if Cha Cha Slide comes on and people start doing it, I can extend that play time to let them dance the whole song if I want.
The time between songs can also be adjusted and you can pic a image to pop up on screen. If for example that you have a sponsor or advertiser, you can have their ad or logo pop up between each song.
All much appreciated tidbits as I am really only one evening of actual Ops deep into this. There is a local place that does Music Bingo (minus the video which I am concentrating on) every Saturday night that I am planning to attend once the wedding and boating season dries up a bit just to get some more insights. All the items like time/duration and starting at different cue points in the song and playing a long lead-out for people groovin' on a tune are easily done within VDJ so got all that cased i think. In fact I found myself doing a lot of those things instinctively when I did the three games during my "Trials" night. For time between song I simply auto-fade from one song to the next but also have a little sound bite promo clip I keep loaded as a display loop if I need time in between or to check out a potential winning card. Here is a full motion HD Loop I did recently as a sample that I may end up using that can easily be set to music using an alternate deck in VDJ 8 (this example is "sans" sound of course just to overcome getting a YouTube copyright notice):
and one I just did up last night for a local affiliate/friend (still needs a little cleaning up):
Was going to ask if you had song lists for your TV show games that you were willing to share by PM? I would be happy to likewise send you all my Bingo song-lists or completed spreadsheets in exchange. Any confidentiality wishes will of course be adhered to and no worries if it is a no. All the work is really in legally obtaining all the titles in question which usually rules out half the list right away anyway (there are oodles of lists like that online anyway which is how I compiled my lists - just nice to know what works for others). I think I nailed it with my Classic Rock list from what my friends are telling me if anyone want to see it????
