Thoughts: Nothing beats the reliability, serviceability and resale value of a Honda generator - similar-spec'd generators are just copycats, and they're all of inferior quality. Spend the extra money and you'll never question whether or not you made the right decision. I wouldn't buy anything but the Honda.

Forget all of that ... any self respecting DeeJay would use renewable enegy .. like Doc Brown did in his converted Delorean ..

I work on generator a few times a year for outdoor country weddings.
In my rack case I have a "Rackrider" power conditioner / Voltage Regulators that goes into my "Rackrider" power strip that has a built in GFI.
It may be a little over kill but the last thing I want is for the generator to do something and send a serge throw my gear and cook everything.

Why wouldn’t you just buy a battery and never ness with fuel.
I currently use a marine battery and 800-watt inverter. A larger generator would allow powering an entire DJ rig. This one also has a longer runtime than the Hondas. I'm always on edge when we bring a Honda that we're going to run out of gas.

Just buy a Honda and be done, the time you have spent researching a “cheap” solution could been spent on better things
I'm not actively "researching". Just happened to see this unit at Tractor Supply and it caught my attention. As for the Honda, not sure I can make it more clear. I will NOT be buying another Honda, period. It's over-priced, has too short of a runtime (I sweat every gig where we use one that it's going to run out of gas), and it's not "all that a bag of chips" on reliability either. I had one drop power on me in the middle of a First Dance. MIGHT pickup one of these units, might not. Nothing pressing at the moment. Just trying to have a friendly conversation. Sorry I mentioned it.

I don't know anything about this brand. But like sound equipment, I'm usually very skeptical when they promote better specs at half the price of a name brand.

Too good to be true?

I'm not sure the run time will be better with this .. according to their specs:

Run Time at 50% Load: 5.75 hr
Run Time at Full Load: 2.9 hr
