Sorry, everything that is classic about "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" will be lost because in part it's made by Bret's voice and the fact that the story is a personal one. Miley can never do a song such as that any sort of justice.

I know Rick and teeny boppers might enjoy this but come on....can we stop remaking the hits? What happened to talent and originality....long gone apparently.

You mean you're supposed to be original and have talent in the music industry...dude, the past several years have missed that memo...

Even a lot of the classics were remakes of older songs. So even though I may not like some remakes, this is nothing new.

Well, that's because she can't sing, you silly goose.

Even if she could sing, she still couldn't do the song justice, she wouldn't have the emotions that drove the song to be written.

All artists at one time or another record covers of clasic hits. But they usually do so with a degree of temperance. Every song is not subjectto being recorded as a cover.

You never see anybody doing a cover of Let it Be, or Satisfaction. A group's cornerstone hit is usually left alone.

I like some remakes, I hate others but no one is immune from it. I don't care what old group or singer you are, if they get paid to let someone remake their song, they are going to let you do it.

Elvis did a lot of remakes. And I am sure with a little research, you could find hundreds of songs you love that were actually remakes.

Britney did a cover of Satisfaction as well.

Led Zeplin covered more songs than they wrote themselves. Oh and Brittany also copied My Perogative.

Part of the reasoning behind covering popular, older tunes, it's done to give the covering artist's popularity a boost.

This one in particular may not seen all that great to those of us who remember the original... but we're not Cyrus' target audience either.

Every Rose was a teen anthem back in the day, much like Enter Sandman and could do well with Cyrus' audience. It's definately a step above the garbage that passes for mainstream music these days. :)
