Hey guys! I'm looking for a little input. I am looking to update my operating system on my Mac to Sierra or anything above OS 9.10. For some reason apple will only allow me to jump to High Sierra. I don't want that because it's not compatible with Serato DJ yet.

I recently purchased a new controller that requires me to operate it on a OS above 10.9 and Im still using 10.8.. I never update unless I have to and this as you see is a must do in order to work with my controller. Any ideas as to where I can purchase the OS that I need? The app store defaults to High Sierra for me. Apple said I can probably get it from someone and install it through a memory stick.

Anyone run into this problem? Thanks..

Do NOT go to High Sierra (HS) - Serato has issues with HS. Apple removed anything previous to HS from the App Store and now you have to go find a reputable location to get a copy of it.

Been there, done that. I'm running El Capitan (2 OS prior to HS) - and it runs just as good as it did before.

Thanks Tigs! That's exactly what I would like to do. I'm still on Maverick and the performance is flawless, but this darn controller is the reason for the slight change. I will definitely look into your option.

I upgraded the OS on two imacs recently and Sierra was the only option thru the app store. I didn't know high sierra was out. My current imac hasn't notified me about any upgrade. I still have a snow leopard disc but that's a little to old to use now days.

High Sierra (initial release) was released on September 25. The current version was released on October 5.

Reminder: Serato DJ (more specifically, the hardware drivers) is not currently compatible with High Sierra.
