Hi are there cheaper alternatives then global truss? Also are there companies that makes black truss systems?

Depends what you need .. Most of the bigger truss suppliers can have a truss powder coated to black. As for cost, the only black truss that is significantly lower is the basic ones from American DJ or Chauvet (or similar), but they have limits in weight far under a true truss.

There are alternatives and there is black trussing. Cheaplights.com is one place to check out.
Ahhh so you spend money in my State, eh! LOL They are located not to far from me, about 30 miles.

just watch the BLACK truss
the more you put lights on and off of it
the more NOTICEABLE marks appear and ruin the black finish.

like Steve said....weight capacity is most important.
don't sacrifice safety for price

Be careful with the black trussing from Cheaplights .. the ones shown on their web only have a weight rating of 10 pounds per linear foot .. only a few basic lights on that .. no different than the ADJ/Chauvet stuff.

Anodized black truss is sweet, but you will want to use full circular clamps and not cheap c clamps. If you get black powder coated truss you can touch up the truss with black gloss paint or a simple paint marker. Most times the truss is high enough up and its dark that you will not see any light marks (Touching them up works great so you do not see any bare metal standing out while everything else is black.

I have had black truss and you will want truss bags if you go that route as I find transport & storage caused more damage to the finish than mounting removing lights

I second DJBlkyn -- do yourself a favor and get rid of your C-Clamps and get some good O-Clamps made for the size truss you have. They're so much easier to use, lock tighter, and don't really scratch at all if done correctly.

[Sorry for the super late response, but I stumbled across this post so I figure others will too]

To me it doesn't matter because it going to get scratch up any way. Otherwise get the natural silver like them global truss. U either paint the truss or replace them one way or the others.

I second full/round clamps. I've got 33' of Global Truss, and -no one- is going near it with a standard "screw" clamp! Lots of full/round clamps seem to be for full 2" pipe, but quite a few have inserts to accommodate smaller diameters as well.

That being said... I consider my Global Truss one of my best purchases. :)

Rickryan,
Do you have a close up pic of the truss because I have ADJ bridge. u9a2anu2.jpg

If you zoom in you can see the black pipe that from the old truss I cut and added.

I used a dmx switch that can be control either a DMX controller or a software lighting controller.
The center black light and laser lights are on switch connected to my DMX.
