Right now we have a Alto ZMX 122 mixing board. It works. I bought it a few years back. I bought it because I just wanted a mixing board at the time and I got it from GC using their CC. Now it's time for an upgrade. Can I get some suggestions without a beat down please. Thanks all and Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Mixmaster. What is the primary use or need for the audio mixer? How many channels, monitor sends, efx and on we go.

At least an 8 channel mixing board. My friend said a Yamaha 12 is about $200 or so. My partner was looking on Wish but they only had no name mixing boards. Names you never heard of. I told him to pass. Stick with a name you know and trust.

What exactly are you looking for, and what is your budget?

Go big and don't let anyone talk you out of it ... You really need one of these Avid VENUE boards .. 192 channels is perfect for what you do .. Business Plan be damned ...

That would look great in my studio I just got to toss a couple of kids out and take out a wall :)

Just keep buying MIXY. Don't let anyone tell you different, your plan to keep buying new get and not generating any revenue is the most genius plan out there. These people are just jealous.
It's not just buying one for the sake of it. It's about buying one that's better than the 2 we have now. Besides neither one has enough inputs to do everything that we need it to do. It's called an upgrade.

Nothing's an upgrade without a Business Plan.

When you went to AA and rehab, did they just hand you a post it pad with all the steps on it and say it's fine to do them out of order, ignore them or do them whenever you feel like it/maybe never? If you did the steps out of order, do you think success would be easier, harder or the same?

Here ya go...They go for $250 Canadian so you could likely to get it for $200 American. I have one they sound great and are built tough. For a little more you can buy a 16, 22 or 30 channel of the same board

Want to look a little more elaborate. I have one of these too works and sounds great I just got tired of carrying it

In reality this is probably what you need. Got one of these too it's been my go to lately. Lightweight and hooks up by USB

What do you have now?

This is what I use. Highly recommend it. All channels have separate mute buttons and separate sliders.View attachment 35914
I have the MG10 in my studio and one for a backup on the road they are solid as a rock. My only regret is I should have brought the 12

I love my Yamaha MG10. It is perfect for what I need it to do.

With that said, I also love my Alto ZMX862 mixer. It is super queit. Only downside on the Altos are that they only have 1/4 inch outputs for main outs. The Yamaha mixers also have XLR outputs.

Why would you REALLY need a 12 channel mixer? I mean how often would you need that many mic inputs on DJ gigs? Yamaha MG10 is plenty for what I do.

If I were doing A/V work, or band sound work then I could certainly see needing a 12 or 16 channel mixer.

He records the roundups and thinks he needs it. In reality the one I posted earlier would be perfect for him to do that

Agreed, 6 is all that is needed for basic dj stuff. I have used 10 channels for other mics and karaoke machine for different shows.

The main reason for going to then 12 was for mutes and separate sliders!
