The Canon T3i, like most DLSR's that shoot video are limited to shooting 29mins clips at a time thanks to EU tax laws, some cameras have work arounds, some do not. The one option you have to get around the recording limit is to use a external monitor/recorder , but I am not sure if your camera offers a clean output via the ports.

Individual movie clips captured by the Canon Rebel T3i are limited to a maximum of 29 minutes, 59 seconds, thanks to European tax regulations, although as it turns out, the 4GB limit on video file sizes will in practice restrict you to shorter movie clips anyway .

When you go to hd format that gets reduced to 12 minutes. I had this camera so I am familiar with the issue.
