What is a very good or even the best set (4) or (8) lights with the sole purpose of attached to a tree light/tripod stand with a four foot crossbar. Not to be used for uplighting.

Seems there are many choices for this use. Important to me is being reliable, and rugged....can take a beating and keep working, plenty of intensity and dmx controlled with full color selection.

Cost important, but not limiting.

i love the chauvet washfx ... they are amazing intense wash lights...but are also great when pixel mapped... the mydmxgo set up pixel maps them automatically depending on which color options you choose... (the car/sparkle/etc)

If u dont want the mydmx go...and dont want to program in pixel mapping...they also have stand alone preset shows (pixel mapped) u can access with any dmx controller/software ...

They are super bright when that is needed... or can be dimmed ...lots of headroom if a larger room calls for it or for outdoor wash

if none of that sounds like it fits your needs and u just want some wash pars... i love the adj tri par plus.... its a workhorse

I use the ADJ Dotz.
(similar the the 4Bar)
I can use it on a static color during cocktails/dinner...
then use it as a wash and/or chase effect during open dancing.

I'm with Chris. After reading the reviews and hearing comments about the Chauvet Wash FX2, I decided to buy 2 and use them at a wedding a few weeks ago. I was blown away by the brightness of them. They put my other Chauvet fixtures to shame. They accomplish with 2 fixtures that four of my Chauvet SlimPar Q12 cannot in terms of coverage and versatility. Plus, they were actually smaller than what i expected so that's handy. I'm waiting on the mydmxgo unit to come this week so I can dim them as needed but it's nice to have that kind of versatility. I plan on getting two more. So 4 of these babies combined with 2 moving heads paired to a mydmxgo and you've got a great setup in my opinion.

Have u had a chance to check out any of the pixel mapping options? if not...just wait til u get the mydmx go... just by clicking some of the light effects options on the right side u send the washfx into a whole new dimension of eye candy!

Chris what mode do you use on Chauvet Wash FX2 ? 3 / 8 / 28 channal mode.
My biggest issue with mydmxgo is setting the proper mode on the fixtures.

Just want to clarify...i have the original washfx...not the "2's"... but i use the mode with the most channels...i think it might be "24" on mine... that mode allows the software to tweak all the pixel mapping channels and give ya the best show!

Can't wait to get the mydmxgo tomorrow and play with all the settings (including pixel mapping. I've yet to try that effect!). I got it from Sweetwater and with their SweetTrack I can see everywhere the shipment is going. It's like being a kid watching the news on Christmas Eve when they're doing the Santa Tracker to see where he's at in the world! "Look!!! Sanata! I know HIMMMMM!"

How do you use the MYDMXGo to do two different scenes with two sets of lights?

Say uplighting one color and dance floor lighting another?

On the fixture tab, you can take the uplights (or any fixture) off of auto control and adjust them manually. Can't have 2 different auto programs though.

BTW, the myDMX Go won't work for every situation, so I'm rebuilding my light case to include a standard controller (Obey 40 for now), the myDMX Go and my Aeo Raven Blackbird PFX all broken out to connectors on top, so I can patch 1 or all in as needed.

I like the Aeo Raven on uplights, since it acts like a color organ when needed, but I can flick a switch and make them static colors (and dial the color in).

The myDMX Go will be the goto for dance floor lighting, since I don't need to worry about programming (though I will have presets). The Obey will be for misc needs.

I ordered 1 DMX transmitter and 2 receivers to play with for now.

I keep the obey 70 rig in the van just incase... the pain would be to quickly change all my dmx addresses quick...but i could be up and running within a couple songs if the mydmxgo dies

Wasn't so much the emergency use .. more of split use .. maybe a few movers on the ADJ, some uplights on the Aeon (I use that for them now) .. and maybe something needs manual control.

As you said, changing on the fly would be tough, since the Aeon has specific addresses it needs and that wouldn't work for the others.

Hey DJcrazyChris,

I've been watching and learning about the washfx and mydmxgo. Sooooo, I bought four moving heads and eight washfx2. I see that mydmxgo will operate on any tablet, ipad, android, and Amazon Fire. All are probably the same, but if you were choosing, which one is best? And this is a small feature, but what type of "holder" would best fit the tablet and keep it in a workable location at your DJ booth?

Hey Bob... i use a Samsung...but ive heard both good and bad from people who use different platforms... Rick bought a cheap Kindle Fire and his works fine... i say go with your gut.

As far as the holder... i use this... mounted on a small mic stand base... works great Rockville IPS20 Tablet/SmartPhone/iPhone/iPad Tripod Stand 4 All Tablets/Phones 613815794059 | eBay - (https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F391641678370)
