Last night I went to a Halloween party and had a good time.

isnt it ironic that it took a committee of 15 people to arrange a party for 15 people...sounds to me like the committee just plans parties for themselves... and gets you suckers to line up to do it free with the hopes that the committee will give you a paying gig one day...

why not quit djing and join one of these magical committees...it sounds like they are living the high life somewhere in Dumbtown NJ

Again pay attention. I 'm bringing what the crowd is used to a DJ bringing. What others on here suggest I bring for this event would be the last time I ever do an event for them. The committee decides who the DJ will be. Not the people attending the event.
'The crowd'? As you admitted, 'the crowd' may not hang around (and based on history, they do not hang around) - so all of this equipment is not for the crowd. Regardless, 'the crowd' is not used to anyone bringing anything - other than speakers and music. I know of not one soul that ever asked for a sub when one was not there - or specific tops if one is not there. This is 100% you.

As I stated earlier, if the committee is deciding who works or not based on how much equipment is brought in, then this is not a place you want to work.

Mix, in the years that you have been here, you haven't changed a thing. You have had tons of advice and help here - and you consistently refuse it because you think you know better. You also have a million excuses to respond to whatever it is. Until you get out of your own way, you'll be stuck right where you are. No amount of advice can help you with that.

There you go with your junk when you don't know what the FUNK you're talking about. No the committee's can't get away with not paying a DJ to do an event for them. You need to shut the funk up and stop assuming things that you know nothing about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I plan on next year having my birthday celebration in the park at the handball court. I challenged you and you punked out. I know why. Because you know I would kick your butt and you would have to start over again buying some new gear. All I was going to do is sell your gear and get the money. So until you put up shut the F*** up. Yes that's my ego talking loud and clear. Arrogant DJ Macho Man is in the park.

You know...come to think of it...you never quite explained that? Like...did you want me to drive 10 hours to put my speakers on one side of the court and see if they were louder than yours? or did you want me to play 80s house music better than you? or was this a sitting contest...because i can sit like a champ!

im just confused as to what id need to achieve to win the pink slip to those pleather wrapped speakers and a dusty earthquake

I never said you were losing. I said I challenged you to a battle and you punked out. I don't know where you get that I was in there only playing 80's house music. It's deep underground house music from today. Probably something you know nothing about and that's OK. We all can't be great at everything. I knew you wouldn't show up rookie. LOL.

Oh is it? lol... so now your suddenly an expert on modern underground house... even though every song you reference is 30 years old....and every video youve ever posted is old music? and your constant dialogue about how you dont know any new music...

i challenge you back .... make ...hmmmm...lets make this easy....make 500 dollars.... djing a party BY YOURSELF....for 40 or 50 seventeen year olds who just want to dance and have a good time... they are dying to dance...and will cut you some slack as long as you play something vaguely familiar...

good luck

I can't lie. You got me on that one. I wouldn't be the right DJ for a crowd like that and nor do I care to be. I'm 61 years old and can't relate to the music they listen to and would want a Dj to play at an event. That's not me and I'm OK with it. Besides my brain can't think that fast to play the music as fast as they want a DJ to play. Let a DJ who plays goober music do that event. LOL. That's what I call the music they listen to or tackhead music is another way I put it.

I would never say to a client that they want the DJ to play is tackhead music. Only when it comes to family because they know me personally.

But to be a mobile DJ, don't you think you need the skills to at least be able to fudge your way through one? Otherwise, you're just a one-trick pony ..
