My fault - Unlock - poor word choice. I should have said "separate".

Most likely to prevent their software from being ripped off (like Atomix's earlier versions of VDJ), Serato DJ Pro's License is only enabled when it senses compatible hardware. This has the ancillary effect of automatically setting everything up - it's Plug'n Play - good for people who can't tie their own shoes.
It is bad for people who would like to try running FLAC files through really high quality sound cards, like an Apogee/Focusrite/Steinberg/etc..

At some point they will have to "separate" the licensing from the sound card - the clamoring on their Forum for this continues to get louder. I thought they might start following Photoshop's monthly subscription model (also probably done by Adobe because of intellectual theft), but since the release of the optional "Play"
plugin, they are probably going to do something else.
