This is just MY personal preference from my experience. I am not condemning what anyone else is using.

Well I gave Karma a try for six weeks and I have come to the conclusion that Sax n Dotty software is much better, user friendly and just plain simple to use.
I did not like that I could not access a file via Explorer from Karma (Unless I was doing something wrong). In other words, if someone handed me a Flash Drive with a Karaoke Song on it, I could not access and play that song using Karma. (Am I wrong here?)

I like the scrolling Marquee on Sax n Dotty that announces the next song and singer on the Audience Screen. I could not find a way to do that with Karma.

As I start typing a search in Sax n Dotty, results start popping up, this does not happen with Karma.

For those who use Karma, are those claims true? If not what are the procedures to accomplish what I am seeking.

BTW for ripping, MP3&G from a CD&G, I just use Audio Grabber which is a free software and works very well.

Btw other than drag n drop from explorer karma does everything you mentioned and more... It even handles rotation and bumper music... Something sux-n-douche doesn't
How do you drag and drop a file that is not in Karma's library when there is no Explorer option?
Where are the settings for the Scrolling Marquee?

I'm not in front of my computer right now but will check later and tell you about drag n droping... As for a marque karma does it two ways a full screen display between karaoke songs and/or a scrolling message bar. Again I'm not at a computer and can't give the detailed steps from memory.

Fair enough! I do own a copy of Karma that I have been trying out on another Laptop.

I used Karma..........until I stopped using it. What little bit of karaoke I'm forced into doing I use windows explorer to find the file then (chuckle, laugh) Karafun player to play them. It just seems more solid and doesn't wreck the box.
Thats a long azz way! Do you walk around the whole car before getting into the Driver's Seat? LOL Just kidding yer!

Nah, I just don't like Karma (for whatever reason). Since I avoid k-gigs like the plaque it just never became a priority to find another k-player and yes, I do walk around the whole car. Why do you ask? ;)

To add a song manually be it regular music or karaoke to the play list there is a symbol in the left corner of the playlist that looks like three hash lines stacked on each other, click that to open a menu then click on Manually Add Media.... this will open explorer... just go to the location of the song or karaoke tune you wish to add to the playlist and drag it over to the playlist and drop it.... it doesn't allow you to add to the singer's playlist and will look like a regular song but clicking on it in the playlist will allow you to start it's playback instantly.

For next singer information at the bottom of the main screen are two options.... NSD - Next Singer Display plus an Edit button ; and Scroller plus an Edit button.

The NSD will do just as it sounds like, between karaoke tunes and while bumper music is playing it will change the display to show your next 5 singers and can include the song they are to sing.

The Scroller is a multi-function scroller that can display your next singers as well as manually added annoucements and what not....

The Edit buttons take you right to the menu for editing what information is displayed to the color and background looks of either.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a bunch! See, thats why you're a Leader, I would have never thought of that! LOL

Not wanting to add to your adventure, but I really like TrceraSoft JustKaraoke 2 .. pretty inexpensive, has singer rotations, and the one I'm playing with today, remote server request features (an additional $25) using either a PC/laptop or phone (built in server for both). Does multiplex discs, custom logo output, ambient music, etc. They have a more full featured club version, but this one just works.

I would like to know in the Sax and Dotty software, can you view and print books from the same software. Are you able to save the song list in a PDF form to save and download to ipads for customers to view song list on a smart tablet. If nor, is there a software program that is used to do this. What programs are used to create the books for custmers to use to view available songs. My goal is to create a PDF, save on a smart tablet, and have stations that people can use to search songs. With the PDF format, customers can not make changes to the song list.
