First get your story straight IDIOT! The van didn't break down. It got towed. Where in the hell do you get that there will be a smell of Ben Gay. Maybe that's what you use but not me! Okay let me ask YOU this question since I haven't had this issue come up in many years. What would you do if you were told by someone working at a venue that you couldn't use tape to tape down the speaker wires?
If you can't convince management that the expensive GAF tape you use (NOT Duct or Duck tape) won't damage their floors, then I put thin carpet runners over cables to hide them. You can buy it in continuous lengths at Home Depot or Lowes .. a couple of 8 footers cut to length will normally cover the exposed wires.

TrafficMASTER Gray 26 in. x Your Choice Length Track Roll Runner-1000275 - The Home Depot - (https://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Gray-26-in-x-Your-Choice-Length-Track-Roll-Runner-1000275/100199619)

It's $2.60 a linear foot (26" wide) and lasts for years. 16 feet would be less than $45 and maybe it's on sale. Might have at Walmart or Target too.

Steve's option is a great cheap option and very effective. You also could have brought your facade... the one that you seem to forget all the time... and placed the speakers on the edges of the facade and hid the wires behind the facade. For that size room having the speakers a little more in wouldn't have really made a difference.
