I just used one of these for the first time last weekend at a friend's house party. It is not very powerful but boy is it handy. 18 pounds, 8+ hour battery life, built in mixer with effects and BT control. My application was karaoke at a friends house. I will probably get one based off this experience.
The unit I used was very likely pre-production vintage. It was borrowed from an insider. I don't know how much the final design has changed since it entered full production. I needed to EQ it a bit and the built in parametric output EQ was perfect for the job. This particular unit was broken when I got it. My friend gave me permission to open it up and I was pretty impressed at how serviceable the unit was. I had to replace a micro-switch on the circuit board. It seems that the power switch was sticking and someone forced the button in to break the switch behind it. They now have a simple fix for this. The production units probably have it in them.
I experienced a few dropouts during the evening. Most were due to a bad cable going from my laptop to the speaker. However, the phone app seemed to produce glitches as I switched screens. Has anyone else has seen something like this with the EON Compact? Of course, the glitches still could have been the cable. I was relaxing on a couch while hosting the karaoke and I could have jostled the laptop while playing with my phone. And I also don't know the firmware status of the unit. I will have to do more testing when I get a chance.
