Then let them bring THEIR systems next time .. share the insanity ..2 of the DJs who helped out here even have a bigger system they would have used there.

Center-fill .. for the 2 dancers.Where are you going to put the lonely top?

I think next time Mix needs to pick a park that isn't on the other side of the RR tracks from Newark Airport. One of the runways is aimed right at the Handball/Paddleball court. Maybe that's why everyone brings 3 times as much gear as needed ... to get over the noise. You think they have systems and are willing to deal with that mess?..
On the off chance they do they should all bring them run them all together imagine that
I'm not sure he could have found somewhere much nosier than that. You could probably hit the plane flying over with a rock at that distance from the airportI think next time Mix needs to pick a park that isn't on the other side of the RR tracks from Newark Airport. The circled item is the courts ...

Who set this precedent, maybe it’s time for someone with some knowledge and understanding of proper sound reinforcement break this cycle and show them how it’s done properly with much less equipmentWe were expecting more people. Stop looking at it being me doing it. Every DJ who comes there to play makes sure they have a big system. Nobody would come in there with just 2 12" tops and 2 subs. They all know better. 2 of the DJs who helped out here even have a bigger system they would have used there.
I agree.Right now my guess is it’s more of a who has more gear contest
We were expecting more people.
Let's not forget that he's also collecting disability and supposedly was suing someone because he tripped on their sidewalk. I wonder how those play into someone moving and using lots of large and heavy pieces of equipment.I'm all for having more sound than you need, but when you combine, age, health issues, and typical gig size, you are making it much harder on yourself than it needs to be. All for zero benefit and little pay.
The sound was awesome
They all agreed it was through the roof.
Not sure there are too many left that remember the club music from 40 years ago... to the hottest house hits.
It's not insanity. It's what they bring to get the job done right. Most of you don't agree but you have also never done an event there. When you do an event there, tell me what you think. Then let them bring THEIR systems next time .. share the insanity ..
Two 18 subs & two 12 tops (6000 watts ) no power amps to lug would have been way more than needed for that small of area. It's not insanity. It's what they bring to get the job done right. Mix I perform the side stage at a large country music festival every year, we are talking 20,000 people in attendance I probably have 2000 at my stage between acts on the main stage, I do this with 6 cerwin Vega t36/750 and 4 JBL SR4732 which if you don’t know are a double 12 cabinet all powered by crown amps, that 10 speakers and 4 amps for 2000 people not 40 I’d bet it sounds 1000 times better that that mis matched steaming pile you guys threw togetherTwo 18 subs & two 12 tops (6000 watts ) no power amps to lug would have been way more than needed for that small of area.
No, it's what they bring because they THINK they need it to get the job done. Lots of speakers doesn't mean good or even loud sound in many cases. The issues you get by using many different speakers with different frequency responses and timing needs can sometimes work against you with lots of cancellations, power alleys and unpleasant sound. I'm still betting you didn't delay the tops and the Yorkville subs to compensate for the horn loading in the CVs and if you used proper crossovers, you'd be looking at high end units due to the different settings needed for the Yamahas vs the EVs (and Peaveys) as well as the CVs vs the Yorkvilles. It's not insanity. Keep thinking that. HA HA. Next time I will use your toy setup and see how people feel about that in that part of the park. Oh my bad. After their reaction you might retire from DJing. Two 18 subs & two 12 tops (6000 watts ) no power amps to lug would have been way more than needed for that small of area.

What you would bring is a pocket knife to a gun fight.
You mean you could have had LESS people? Mix .. it was free .. what difference did it make what people "thought" about it? Music is music .. it wasn't like you charged for it and it was an EDM show ...Keep thinking that. HA HA.
