Today is my birthday and I was trying to decide what to do today. The sound was great. Too bad a lot of people didn't show up. There were a lot of things going on that day all over including a festival in Montclair and Elizabeth. Hutch gave the suggestion to do it on a Sunday when less things are going on. I will be looking into another date on Sunday to do it again. This was my first time ever doing something this big. So I wasn't all messed up. At least we know we can do it. My friend Will Gee who played has a nice amp rack case to put all the amps in so every thing can be simply setup. Just plug wires in and turn the amps on..

As far as it being too much, it wasn't. It was just right. So now it's time for this 61 year old man to figure out what he is going to do today for his birthday!

Happy Birthday Get same rest Mix.

Should we start a pool on the total number of excuses why this failed? my guess 13 none of which were mix’s fault
I said it already. A lot of other things were going on that day. Didn't know all those things were going on yesterday until after the permit was paid for. So no backing out. It probably would have worked out better today if we did it. No excuses. These things happen at times. My friend had a party on May 24th in the basement of the Cricket Club. Great setup in the basement. They had 4 JBL subs (the big boys) and 2 JBL double 15's for him to use. Only a few people showed up. He told me yesterday he took a $500 loss. He wasn't caught up into what happened. His attitude was to keep it moving. Which is what my plans are. I can stay stuck into what happened but what good would that do? Nothing. I'm not looking to stop Djing because of what happened. Just keep it moving.

Mix .. Happy Birthday...

Next time, don't pick a venue where people have to be on concrete or asphalt on a nice day ... or at least face a direction where people can sit on the grass hills and listen. Also, sweep up the area around you first .. and lay some rugs down so your gear doesn't get any worse. It's really tough to believe with the number of events you've had, that the gear is THAT scratched up and rusty. Have pride in your stuff !!.

It's not our job to clean up the area. That's the committee's responsibility. It was a big mess with tornadoes in the area. So 4 nights in a row it rained super hard.

It is if someone else didn't do it for you ... otherwise it looks like you set up in dirt. If you paid them to do it, then you can go back for a refund .. but YOU still need to clean it for YOUR guests.

Whosever job it is, I'm not putting my gear down in dirt
