All credit to the Bruno Mars "formula".....I think I'm going to be sick!

Nice nostalgic groove that lacks a good hook IMO. Nearly 60k views in one day is a good start though. I'm terrible at predicting hits so whatever I say is probably contrary to the popular vote.

I’m right there with you. I’m afraid my musical taste is on the mellower side than is that of the general public. It’s about the only real down-side for me as a DJ. I find I play a lot of stuff that would NOT be my choice, but I’m playing to the crowd.

The target audience on this is obviously a 40-year-old female. The problem with it is that it relates to absolutely nobody else. Guys aren't going to dance to this, and neither is anyone under the age of 30 (because they aren't 80s anything).

Honestly, this song makes the 80s embarrassing. They needed it to hype up their concert tour, but where can they take it from here? Bruno Mars knows how to use the retro formula to his advantage, but he also knows knows how to craft lyrics that don't alienate 90% of the listening audience. NKOTB are proud to be cheesy at this point.

It won't be a huge hit, but I'm going to show my wife this video, and call her my 80's Girl, and she will dig it!

I kind of like it and the video has that throwback vibe. No one is mumbling and cursing so that's two big pluses there. Throwback parties is becoming increasingly popular now. In regard to the Backstreet Boys my daughters been two of their concerts where they were the main group out of 10 - 15 artists. The concerts last five hours and the amphitheater was still full when they came on. The singing and screaming was the loudest for them out of all of the groups. I'm not sure how their record sales are doing but they definitely have their fans and I am still play/get requests for their older stuff. I leave picking out the new stuff to my son and the charts. Thanks to Pandora, Apple Music, XM and I my Mp4s I don't have to listen to the current stuff on the radio.

Backstreet Boys have a VERY loyal fan base. HUGE Fan Base...Many of their fans may be aging and not active like they were in the 90s and early 2000s, but those fans will support them no matter what.

BSB and NSYNC have been popular requests at many weddings the past 2 years, and when I play their songs people dance...Women and Men alike these days!

...And I want it that way! :)

Why play this unknown song, when you can play a hit from ANY of those artists
and get a much better reaction?
