Yea .. not really friendly, but it seems to play EVERYTHING.Operator error. Thanks Steve, looks like that will do the trick perfectly. The UI is kinda screwy, but it does function.
If you have a UI where you should have a GI .. might want to head back to the doc ..Sounds like me.... At least that's what last week's colonoscopy said...
Next step up is a MIDI player. One of my friends does that with his keyboard. Buys MIDI files of songs, edits as necessary, and then plays them back through the keyboard .. embellishing things through live playing as well. Plenty of small or rackmounted tone/sample generators/players out there. Probably some software only versions on iPad as well. Seems to be better renditions of the music than the karaoke versions in many cases.Didn't tell you guys what I'm doing. I've got time to kill and want to get back into playing out. Before DJ, I did a soloact where I'd play with backing tracks. I've been downloading karaoke tracks off youtube of material that I've done before. Already up to 40+ at this point. I usually play electric guitar and sing and this is working out pretty well. Using my EV Live-X 12s and pleased with how it's coming along. I just got to rehearse and get my chops back up. Will then probably start sniffing for restaurant gigs in the area. I still have lots of friends in the area and the whole Nashville/Opry thing actually plays. Not expecting to make much money but it should be good for a few laughs. VLC makes it simple to setup a standard gig playlist. Just hang the ipad from the mic stand and it's the karaoke, one-man band.
