First please do not tell me how easy it is to build a website. I 'm not a computer wiz. So I have no clue on how to build one. I have gotten emails and the first thing they ask is let me see your website. I had 2 done and never got anywhere with either one. I didn't even know where to advertise online with the websites.

Now if you know someone who knows how to build a website that is reasonable please let me know. I'm not making this up for a joke, so please no smart remarks. I got an email 2 days ago and they wanted to see a website. I had already given them a price quote and for them to respond back meant they were OK with the price. They just wanted to see some evidence of something online of the business. I let them know where they could find some videos on YouTube of work we've done. Bottom line in desperate need of a website. Thanks for reading.

If you can't do it yourself get ready to spend some money...

First thing you need is a domain name then choose a host. I use MDD hosting for this place but their plans are much more than you need. I use Netfirms for other sites but there are many to choose from and all are competitively priced

There's a few here than can do it for you but none are working for free. @Dan The Man or @Hank Davidson might be able to answer some questions for you

If you’re looking to actually have a website made from scratch and have everything set up for you, expect to pay at least $1000+ for the site, plus the yearly maintenance. I spent $2500 on my site to be built (I handle the yearly stuff myself).

i should warn… a site is nothing without content. If you want your site to look good and get you results, you need high quality photos and videos from professionals. A lot of people say my site is great, but the site itself is nothing fancy… it’s actually just a basic template with some minor adjustments… it’s impressive because it’s got really captivating content.

You could try www.fever.com.

Seriously though...If you just pace yourself, and spend time with it...the templates on Wix.com are real easy to use. You could have a free website to get you by! You know how up upload pictures right? Other than that, and inputting a few things that it asks of you, it will literally build your site for you. You can easily add videos too if you have them. All it requires is paying attention to what it asks, and spending time with it. You log onto this chat board and have no problem typing plenty. I am positive you can use the WIX website editor and build a basic site that will look good.

At this point, a Facebook page is probably the best way to go. if you want a domain name, you can forward it to your page.
You’ve heard this many times

Like they said use a Facebook business page. Although yes you can do a website yourself technically, but then there is the artistic, marketing & creative Element to it. And you have to have the text, photos & video to tell the story. In remember making my first website on AOL in the 1990’s. I currently use GOdaddy as they supply support, hosting & web builder. It runs about $240 with email. The price has been going up the past few years but allows me to do everything myself, not easy and I have some software/programming background. I was sort of in your position 30 years ago, I need a website, asked my coworker to do it. Later he threw a book on HTML on my desk and said get reading. No help with the website but he helped put up my fence which was easier.
The good thing about all of this you have Potential customers asking you if you to show them and are you a legitimate business.

Wait do the people at the senior center really need you to have a website
Sir reread what I posted. I get email responses asking to see our website or videos. Great advice is to work on the Facebook business part. I just looked at it and there's some great stuff on there. I also deleted certain post that were out dated. Let me be honest I had forgotten about that Facebook page that I made up for the business. Thanks for reminding me. I will put things on there as I get stuff to post on there and send them to the business site on FB. If you're interested anybody type in Dance To The Music Entertainment and click on the first one that comes up to go to the site. Please let me know what you think.

Work on your Facebook page for now Mixy. That's free. Little late in the game for a website?
Your welcome Mixy. Please post your link. All I see is your personal page?

That it does!! But it took a while to build up all that content. Very impressive!
Before having my own team to handle media aspects I would literally reach out to every photog asking if I could use their photos on my site and if they wanted to have a watermark of their company on them that was fine. Most were happy to share… some never responded. Either way it helped give me a good headstart

All I know is to type in Dance To The Music Entertainment and I saw 2 different pages came up. I clicked on the first one and it came up. Taso a lot of events we do there is no photog or someone taking videos.

Where are you typing?? Found one on weddingwire .

You can take photos & video yourself . Edit & use the best photos & video. Unlike years ago you can take ton of photos/video and it doesn’t cost you anything. For video I used to let the video camera run, even got a remote pan & tilt so I could get myself in the shot then pan to the dance floor.
Now I got a GoPro Max 360 camera, you shoot video of everything it room then edit video or photos from Whatever direction you want. Working 360 is a little more tricky thsn regular video but definitely worth it.
But its crazy to wait for a photographer at the event to take photos for you.
There is a ton of tech out there just maybe you want to direct money toward those items which will helpvsecure bookings and learn how to get the most out of them.

i did not find the site either, if we are having trouble someone that doesn’t know you is going to have issues too. I also found a couple other DJs with very similar company names.
