Kris:

Have you tried ebay? There are some good vendors there and once you buy from one you can go direct.

Back when I was doing middle school dances I used laser pointers as a give away (don't do that). I found a few good sources for those and bought direct after the first purchase off of ebay.

Sometimes you can get them cheaper directly.

Higher quality than many of the others that we have bought from. Good pricing, and prompt shipping.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

They have a NAME discount, and a high quality product.... noticeably better than the super cheap ones you find on ebay.... ... reasonable prices.. And IIRC, very quick shipping....

So tell me this guys, how much do you sell them for? I've always given them away in the past but tired of spending my own money. I don't want to make a bunch of money on this, but enough to cover my cost and maybe pay for my traditional 2 AM trip to McDonalds post gig (I really need to stop that habit!). I was thinking 2/$1.00 for the bracelets, maybe $1 each for bigger stuff?

Ah, since we don't do school events and very few teen events ..... we give 'em away at receptions, etc. We just consider the cost of them, just part of doing business.

I can see where you could go broke if ya gave them away at every school dance.....

First of all you'll need to figure out how much each unit is going to cost you (include your shipping charges) before you can determine where you'll need to price them at.

I purchase a tube of 50 for about $20 and sell them for $2 a piece...nice $80 profit on a tube. And, they sell themselves. But, I only do this with the upfront approval from the school. I have one account, that sells them for the profit themselves.

I'd like to add a plug for Sureglow as well. They offer some decent package deals. As Val mentioned, RI Novelty is a great source. :)

We haven't been selling 'em. If we still did school dances we probably would. We've been giving 'em away, often as contest prizes. And they're really cheap when you consider the ROI. We've found the tri-color necklaces to be the most popular.

Just a note on glow products ~ most require assembly. Keep this in mind when you order. The sticks come with a skein of strings that you have to pick through and thread through the sticks and then knot. Do this before the event... you won't have the time nor the patience to string and assemble the things while you're trying to program a show.

The glasses are cute but they require assembly. Even the necklaces and bracelets come with connectors separate in a kit bag. Do as much preassembly as you can manage before the show. Then activate 'em when you need 'em. Don't wait 'til you're busy with DJing and there's not enough light in the house to see to assemble 'em.

It's best to have an assistant to manage the glow stuff, trust me on this. :)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the necklaces and bracelets that we bought from "Northern", all had the connectors attached, which makes it a whole lot easier when getting "prepped" to hand them out.

Kris,

You call always offer a “Party Fun Package” which has a bunch of giveaways like glow sticks and other goodies for the event. This is one stop shopping for the client. Also you can make a nice profit for yourself.

I have always had great service from Sure Glow.

Kris,
I just saw a bulk lot on ebay for 2880 sticks....Not sure what it sold for, but pretty cheap.

sureglow seems like a great place.

I like the one stop shopping deal too....add a package to the base price so you know you won't be fumbling with money at the event....also, what is cash these days?

I just purchased 2 tubes of 100 per tube from sureglow on Monday. Got them on Wednesday. Total cast with shipping $32. Ive had good luck with them.

You can get them from my Makes party ling on my website:sqeek::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:
