I might have an event to do for NYE.

NO LIKE I SAID IN THE PAST I'M NOT A COMPUTER WIZ AND DOING THIS EVENT WAS NOT JUST SIMPLY PLAYING ONE SONG AFTER ANOTHER. I HAD TO GET DOWN AND MIX THE MUSIC! I understand some using Zoom it's not necessary. I get that. I had to use my controller to mix with and not just play a single song one at a time. If I did that they would have been pissed off.

Steve I don't know how many other events will come up from this. I just know I was asked to do the event and that's what I did. When doing events you never know what or who may want you to do an event for them. Just do your best and keep it moving.

For beginners reading that last paragraph, while it sounds optimistic that you never know what opportunity may arise, experience tells you events only bring upon other similar events. This will not gain anything. No wedding will be chosen from a guy they saw on zoom, no high paying event with production elements involved will be gained by seeing someone DJ in their living room, no corporate event will be had from this experience that was lacking technological expertise. It only gets other minimal paying events. Now if you just love playing music and don’t care about the time sacrificed or the amount paid... then fair enough.

Correct me if I’m mistaken about what you’re trying to do, but if you’re trying to get USB AUDIO from your controller to a computer to act as the mic input, some DJ’s use a USB Audio device like a Scarlett 2i4. However, unless you’re ready to plop down around $375, that might not be a good option for you. Another more reasonable option that I think will work is the PreSonus STUDIO 26C USB-C 2x4 audio/MIDI interface. It retails for $205.95 almost every place...

... but I saw where ProStarAudio has a couple of open boxes for $129. You can look on eBay for either of the ones I listed, and maybe you can find a better deal. The PreSonus would require a USB-c to USB 2 cable if your PC does not have a USB-c port.

The reason for the 2 in, 4 out boxes is so you can use the USB to your computer, and still hook up the left and right output to your speakers. If that’s not important to you, a 2x2 box might work.

Since he only needs 2 channels in and "maybe" 2 out, the smaller Presonus Audiobox will work as well and less than $100 ..

I have an older version I've used for years (though never tried it for Zoom).

Or you could go even cheaper and do the Behringer U-Control...

... I have an older one of these in my laptop bag. I’d go with the PreSonus AudioBox though if it was for a professional DJ performance.

Thanks for that suggestion. I love it. The Behringer one is like the one my partner hooked up.

I think the Behringers are fine as a backup, but for $50 more, the Presonus is much better.

That's what DJ's do....at every gig.
It was the ZOOM part of the gig you had issues with.
(and you knew you were gonna have problems with it when you booked it)
