So Mix how did it go?

At the end it went great. Before that I had issues that had to be straightened out. For some reason the monitor speaker wouldn't stay on and I had to go in the bedroom and get another power strip to plug the speaker and laptop cord in. When I took out the power strip I shut the modem off and had to cut it back on. The other thing is having to unplug the USB cord for the interface and plug it back in so it would read the controller. At the end I played my ass off and finished the event.

One thing I refuse to do is take any criticism from anybody! It was my first time doing it this way. So I learned to easy does it. Things finally worked out and they had a good time dancing to the music.

I must say, if no one ever criticized me there would have been little improvement in my skills for I would have not known how bad I was and not worked on or made room for improvement .

I'd gladly accept criticism. Its just that I never do anything wrong to warrant it😄

Right there is why you have not gotten better at running a business and will never get any better.
There you go with your crap again as usual. What I meant by that statement was I wasn't going to take a major beating over what I did. Of course there's room for things to be better next time. I was talking about me not being too hard on myself.

it was just a few days ago. Considering I had no plans for anything else why not do the event? Especially at this time because things have been hard to come by this year once the shutdown happened.

Jimmy let me know please how do I use my controller with an interface so I can hear the people on Zoom and they hear me? Do I need a better interface box? The one I used that night was my partners. A cheap simple plain one. What would you or anybody else recommend I get for a interface box and will it help with a better setup so we can hear each other on Zoom?

Do you EVER research anything yourself? Did you know there is online support for ZOOM? You can find an article there that tells you what you need...

I watch a channel on YouTube where the guy and his wife built a container house themselves, though neither of them had ANY construction experience. The guy did ALL the carpentry, welding, electrical, and plumbing, and he learned how to do it all by watching online videos and reading online articles. Seems you should be able to figure out how to set up a Zoom meeting with just a little effort doing the research.

I did but didn't fully understand it anf trying to get technical support on Zoom is not happening right now.

Running a DJ session on Zoom wouldn't generally fall under "technical support". Best bet is to HIRE someone who can do it to show you what you need.

And if there are NO jobs to be gotten from these events, then why spend the money to do that.

A normal person doesn’t really need to HIRE someone to help with setting up Zoom. There are PLENTY of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. I’ve never done a Zoom live stream, but I’m certain, after watching a couple of videos, that I could do it without having to purchase any additional gear. With that said, it appears the recommended way to setup is to use your normal DJ laptop for playing music (video turned off), then use a SEPARATE device (PC, tablet, smart phone) to interface with the other participants of the meeting. Since my DJ systems both have 2 PC’s running live at all times, all I’d need to do is attach a Web Cam to my secondary PC, and I’d be good to go.

A normal person .....

Typically you run your DJ system self-sufficient (monitoring/etc.) and run the output into Zoom as your "mic". Feeding back Zoom's speaker output to your system.
