I might be the DJ doing an event on NYE. I didn't see me doing another event till next year. I have to be on a Zoom meeting this Saturday to find out who they will pick to do it. The governor of NJ has mandated at this time that restaurants and bars be closed for inside at 10PM. I don't know the full details. I just know the place has to be closed by 10PM. So this committee every year picks a venue to do their NYE event. This year because of the restrictions they can't have it in a venue. So it will be on Zoom 7:30PM to 12:30 AM. A member called me to see if they had my right number. I got a message from another member on FB messenger to call them. When I finished what I was doing I called them and they got my number. They had to give my number to another member and they called me to see if I was available to do the event and would I do it. I agreed to do it. HOw I got considered is my name came up in a meeting about me doing the event. I agreed to doing it because I have nothing planned for that day.

NOW I'm nervous because I tried once doing an event on Zoom and somethings didn't work well. My friend has done it before. So he agreed to help me with getting to do it because I certainly need the help and I'm not afraid to ask for help. So I will find out on Saturday if I get to do the event.

Now onto something I found out last night from a member. A group is having an anniversary next month and wanted to know if I would be the DJ for the event? Here's the crazy part. The crazy part is me being outside in December. No way! That's crazy. Thanks for the compliment but no thanks! I know they liked what I did for them in October. It was chilly then.

Let me ask is there anybody here working on NYE? If so congrats big time with such a crazy year.

The nerve of them. Planning a NYE party on the last day of December.

BTW, we should really let all those DJ's and Bands working at ski resorts know the disparity of their position.
No sir. This event is every year. you're confusing the 2 events. The other event is an anniversary celebration for a meeting.

You wouldn't to battle this old man you old man. i don't care if you are a moderator, I will have you wish you never wish you became a DJ. LOL. Just having fun. I hope I didn't bruise your ego too much. Oh by the way I wanted to make a post earlier but the service went down and I even couldn't get online with my phone. Obviously it quickly is back up.

Geez, Here we go again. The train is leaving the station. Everyone buckle up for the wreck ahead. It's always the same ole Sh-t with this dude. We can all almost guarantee what will happen in this thread. Why not wait until you have the gig booked to come on here talking about it? All these "I might be the dj threads".

Got go leave but I made this post because of 2 things. I'm 99% sure I've got it and for any advice on how to do it on Zoom if someone on here knows how to do it.

Get out! New Years Eve is annual?
Somebody should have jumped on this trend years ago.
No you're missing it. This committee does a speaker jam and dance every year on NYE charging to attend. It's just that this year it's on Zoom this year instead of at a venue.

First off Jeff roght now I don't know how much they are wanting to pay. I will find out Saturday. Jimmy I have the tools to get it done I believe. My friend agreed to help me get it working properly. Like I said I did it once and it wasn't perfect. Just got to tweek things. If you or someone else knows how to do it I would greatly appreciate the help.

Oh I forgot Jeff one more thing. I won't be playing the whole time. They will have speakers and the idea is to have me play a little music between breaks with the speakers and then play for about 30 to 45 minutes to help bring in the new year. I will find out more on Saturday.
