I just pulled the trigger on a new case.

You bought the right cases if the controller fit with no mods.
Good cases don't come cheap
You know ,you get what you pay for like
DJ's. LOL

I had 2 other cases and never needed to do anything to the cases for the controller to fit perfectly. Never had to use rack rails.

So you spent $215 on a case that sort of works. You won't spend 30 on the rails to make it perfect but you will spend $100 on a mod to make it sort of work.......Mixmastermachoman economics

And if you would have researched more thoroughly, you could’ve bought one this time too, however you didn’t read thoroughly, this seems to be an issue often for you. There are several cases by several manufacturers that make cases that would’ve have worked exactly like you wanted, but it appears you were too impatient to do the research, why didn’t you just order the same case you had before ???

I bought a 14-space Harmony rack for my gear three or so years ago...loved it, but was way too heavy for just me to lift, so I purchased a 10-space rack and took out a couple of items that I really didn't need (equalizer, compressor/limiter and a wireless four mic unit).

While it is smaller and lighter, it is still heavy.

That's nice nut I don't need a rack like that. When I first came back to DJing I had a rack setup to put my Numark CDN 88 in. That's been long gone.

I just bought a moving head to use for January 1st. It's nice. One thing is it doesn't have a off and on switch. I will get another power strip to use and keep it turned off until I want to use the light. I have to look again at the box to see what brand it is.

It’s a moving head it doesn’t have an on of switch because it’s designed to be controlled by DMX, hopefully your purchase increases your income as that’s the reason a professional DJ makes a purchase

Your many partners you have had over the years don't have lights you can use for a one off event?
Save your money & buy something useful and that will last. What,s the LED output?

You turn the light off with DMX controller
Always has power to the unit.
Everytime you turn on with the power strip the unit will go though a reset mode and look funky.

It's like every gig you do, you lose money on it. I swear if you actually did a profit/loss statement you probably haven't had a profitable year in the last decade since I've known you on the forums.
What happened to the pair you already had bought?

I get you about a DMX light controller. I looked on Ebay and saw many different types. Some inexpensive and some expensive ones. If I bought one I would need to find out how to use it? What wires I would need to use it, how to wire it up and then how to work it? I'm considering getting one. Any suggestions Tunes4046 for one that I don't need a computer to use it?

The most difficult part for you is learning how to use it you have to be able to watch and study online videos, it’s not something you’ll learn in a few minutes, I still learn new stuff with DMX and I’ve been doing it for 15 years. Yea you can run it with a simple analog DMX controller,

The problem is you want cool light , cool lights only look cool because of programming. Lights randomly moving around the room with no programming looks cheap and tacky, plus your not playing a night club you don’t need night club style light, simple classy and tasteful would serve you much better. I haven’t used moving heads or any effects light for well over 2 years it’s definitely falling out of fashion especially for the age group you play for.

Work smart quit wasting money on things you want and buy things that improve your show and create higher paying gigs

I see a ton of DMX light controllers. The ones I was looking at are analog. I don't know what I should buy. There are so many at different prices. Plenty under $100 and some over $100. I used to have a Chauvet Obay 40. I never used it. So I don't know if that's a good buy or not. I'm looking at using 5 lights in the future. 2 moving heads, 2 Chauvet intimadator 110 and another light I already have. Please help me with getting one.

Please help me with getting one.
Check out facebook marketplace / reverb or ebay for a deal on a controller. Chauvet Obey 40 will be find for your needs Adrian.

My first intelligent DMX fixtures where Martin MX-4s. $800.00 each new at the time. Little set back by the fact that I spent this much money and they call them
intelligent fixtures that I had to program. LOL :djsmug:
