I just ordered a backup controller.

...or until the specific USB port and drivers are no longer supported.

If it were me, I would sell at least two of them, because it's unlikely PC and software upgrades will be friendly to yesterday's hardware.

Still doesn't explain why you're holding on to two extra controllers. Five years form now the value is likely to be zero, but today - people like Mix are willing to pay you up to $400 each (200 + 200 for repair).

It also seems unlikely you're going to need any controller in the next year given Covid restrictions and lock-downs. So, in commercial income terms, I look at this example and ask - do you want to be a collector or a trader ? Are you running a business or a museum ? :)

For all of those who are in panic mode that's on you. When this situation happened I wasn't in panic mode.

Because you get money from the government...
you have NO full time job....and only an occasional DJ gig...
PLUS...you don't have a spouse and a family to support.

In other words....you didn't panic...because you had nothing to lose.
(unlike the rest of us)

Now let's be fair Mixy has his ego to lose!!

I have my old laptop setup with both drivers for each controller and nothing to do but just switch controllers.

I'm supposed to go to the repair shop on Tuesday when I get my money to pay them for the repair. I agreed to let them fix it because it was just over a little bit of what I wanted to pay. So the cost is $213.65 to get it fixed. I know I wasn't going to Triple S because they are super expensive. Way too much. I haven't been there in well over 10 years to get something repaired. So if things work well I will highly recommend them for repairs.

Where are you getting the money Mixy??

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think he has a pension. What’s amazing is that you never hear of the partner coming out of his pocket with any money. Mix supplies equipment, van to haul equipment, cost of repairs. The partner still gets half or a third depending on if his girlfriend is involved in the gig. The partner has it made in the shade.

First and for most the van was what I needed. I bought a van after the one I had got totaled by a stolen Thrifty rent a car. It was parked. there was the argument about which insurance would pay for it. I finally got the check and bought another van and had it for a few years and then things started giving me problems with that van. After the last time it broke down while driving I decided I had enough. I got rid of it because in about 4 months I kept having that van cost me money to keep getting fixed. For the first time I bought a vehicle with monthly payments instead of paying cash for it.

I got the van I have now because I needed it and not just for the business. I have other things I needed it for. I don't report all the things my partner buys because I keep the focus on me. I might have a job to do coming up. I will report back if I get the job.

I picked up the controller today and I feel terrible. I will check it out another day.
