I had to get another PC today.

How can they be upset with what you bought???.. YOU HAVEN’T TOLD US WHAT IT IS YET!!!.. A computer with 8GB of RAM and a 500 gig drive is NOT a description!
It was sorta gray .. maybe a little beige ..

I saw it Friday, great movie, laughed like crazy, found it more enjoyable than the original. Good to see Richard again, he still kool after all these years. Told my wife I’m heading out to get a turtleneck and trenchcoat . But Shut you mouth, We talking bout Shaft. Enjoy.

(The) SHAFT???[emoji1]... I think that’s what that salesman gave you when he sold you that new PC (with 8 gig of RAM and 500 gig hard drive)![emoji1]
It's not new sir. It's used. I don't get it when people think that when you buy something used it's new to you. I say what it is used.

I don't quite understand the whole purpose of Mix's post. There isn't a question and lot of rambling about a new/used PC and a rolling bag.....….But what does remain constant and consistent is his ever presence of a partner, mentioned three times in the original post.

Got to give Mix credit where credit is due though.......he doesn't know the name of the store and his partner likes the rolling bag.

He says it’s a Dell PC, but I kinda doubt that. He can’t tell what kind of Dell it is, so I think they sold him an HP and just told him it was a Dell. I also think it probably has only 4 gig of RAM and a 200 gig hard drive. Since Mix didn’t actually check to see what he was getting, they could have told him anything. [emoji1]

It's a used PC. Nothing new to me. Just like people said that when I got the van I have now. People were saying I got a new van. I bought it in 2015, it's a 2012. So nothing new. New would be a 2019. I tried to get one but the monthly payments were too much for me to handle not including the insurance.

Mix .. no one cares it's used .. I buy plenty of used gear, including laptops at times. BUT, you need to realize it's NOT current technology .. and at a $99 price point, it's not even yesterday's technology, as it's likely a close to 10 year old box. Windows 10 Pro sells for more than $99 and even from the resellers who sell 2nd hand licenses, it's close to $40, so the actual hardware has to be suspect.

I know it's "new to you", and if all you want is a browser to surf the net, then go with it.

Again I said it's not new to me. That's what people have said to me when I get something I didn't have before.

My aim is to get online and post on Facebook. Besides that post on YouTube along with reading and sending emails.

As Steve said:

I did forget one one thing. To use for my internet radio show when I get setup.
As long as you don't need speed, you'll be fine. :)

Mix,
People are just trying to help you understand you most likely got junk. Buying a computer without knowing the specs is like someone coming here and bragging about the pair of speakers they bought for $99

You most likely have a cracked version of windows.
They threw in a rolling bag, which should tell you they have absolutely nothing in the computer. Someone was probably throwing it away
Buying anything without knowing what you actually bought is almost always going to not work out.

You talk about people hiring the cheapest dj, then you do basically the same thing, buying the cheapest computer

The people that hire the cheapest dj are usually people who have never hired a dj before. But you’ve owned computers for years.

Here are the specs. Processor Intel R. Core TM2, quad CPU Q8200, @233GHz. 64 bit . No pen or touch for display. Vostro 420. Windows 10 Pro 2019. There you have it.

Your computer is vintage 2009. It was likely shipped with Windows XP PRO SP3 and a Windows Vista Business License. For $99, and with Windows 10 Pro installed, I’d say you got a reasonably good deal.[emoji4] Your only REAL concern is that you’re possibly dealing with a 10 year old motherboard, and possibly other aging components (like the power supply). Not a big deal, as those items can be replaced easily if they fail. Enjoy your computer and best of luck.[emoji4]
