I took my PC yesterday to the shop where I got my laptop fixed. My partner couldn't finish fixing my PC so I decided to take it to this shop on Route 22 East. Great group of people working there. I got a call today telling me the motherboard on my computer was bad. I ordered that motherboard months ago on Ebay because I couldn't find a motherboard to fit that computer. So I bought a new case and motherboard looking for my partner to fix my PC.

So I picked my partner up and went to the store there. I knew when the guy called me it wasn't worth getting my PC fixed. I got one from them for $99. It's a Dell that has 8 gigs of ram, 500 gig HD and Windows 10 pro. It came with a power cord, keyboard, mouse and he gave me another nice rolling bag to put stuff in like the one I already got from them for free. I will check it out later. I'm tired but I'm going to try to stay awake for the NBA finals game.

Like the guy said it would cost more to get my old PC fixed than getting another one.

Is this your performing laptop?

I was talking about a keyboard and mouse. The keyboard won't work because the pins are bent. I don't know the CPU. I will have to find out. I was talking about a rolling bag. The bag is great. It has a lot of compartments. I went with Dell because I was told to stay away from HP. I found out from the guy HP was split into 2 parts. Consumer and business computers. So far so good for a used PC. It comes with a one month warranty. Just got to wait to look to reset my regular email address because I kept trying to reset my password and I ran out of trys till later.

someone bribed you with a free rolling bag to purchase a 99 dollar computer?

cc
No sir. He gave it to me after I bought the PC. The same thing he did when I went to pick up my laptop. I was willing to pay for the bag and he just gave it to me for free. It's better than the laptop carry bag I had. So to get another one for free is great! My partner said he could use it. I told him no way. It's mine mine mine.

Why do you start a thread about getting a new PC, then provide no details about the PC???... You could at least take a picture with your phone and post it.[emoji1] You make it really hard to discuss the topic when you don’t answer any of the questions, yet it AMAZES me how your threads get SO much discussion about NOTHING!!![emoji1]

I told you what I know. It's a Dell with 8 gigs of ram, 500 gig HD and Windows 10 pro. That's all I know. I got to check to see if the built in card reader works. That's as far as I go.

I was hoping to tell people about the place because they are very good. I got to go by there again to get the name of the place. I know it's in Union, NJ on Route 22 East near Wing Stop.

OK... Don’t you think it’s important to know what you’re getting BEFORE you buy a computer???... The amount of RAM is unimportant, because it’s easy and inexpensive to add memory. The hard drive can be easily changed as well. The CPU is WAY more important. The AGE of the computer is WAY more important.

Let me give you a little piece of information (that I know you’ll ignore)...
ALL Dell computers have a (7 character) Service Tag on the back or the bottom of the case. You can go to Support | Dell US - (https://www.dell.com/support/) and enter the Service Tag and it will tell you the model number, the date it was sold, and everything else about your computer.

Before buying a Dell computer, you should ALWAYS do this first so you know if what you’re getting is different from what they built.

I really can’t believe a good salesmen would let you walk away not knowing what type of processor you have when it’s one of the first things you should have discussed. Unless he’s just trying to move a machine. It’s like buy a car and never asking what’s under the hood.

For $99, I think he was unloading something. I can't believe it's newer than maybe 2006.
