I got a text message this morning that did my spirit good.

So lets sum up since Mike was correct the first time.... they sent you a text saying that after they politely asked you to change your musical choices and play what they wanted ...they... "Liked the music you played"

Reminds me of the Time i went to Ruth's Chris to get a steak... the waiter brought out a huge succulent mound of feces.... and i had to send it it back and ask for a steak instead...

My compliments to the chef!

Wrong. The chairperson at the event had me to change the style of music I was playing. I was doing things the way I had done it in the past for other activities committees. That's not what he wanted. In the beginning I played music till the speaker showed up and time for them to speak.

Once the comedy show started I just played intro music for each comedian. After that was the dance. I played for the dance until most of the people were gone. Got paid and packed up.

A few days ago the chairperson texted me telling me how the committee liked the music I played once I got on the right track. So my guess is when they have another event and need a DJ they will contact me to see if I'm available.

Can you give us some "older classic soul" song titles that the chairperson asked you to stop playing and tell us what music/songs you changed to. And what you played for dancing? So curious.

And a photo of the equipment set up.

Glad to hear the event coordinator sent you a positive text message.

Played James Brown, Temptations, stuff like that. I was told to play house music which is what I did. Later on for the dance I played house music and the crowd ate it up. No taking pictures at these events for the fellowship. So I don't have a picture of the setup.

You must have been a good fit for the music styles they were looking for. Glad it was you and not me......I couldn't play house music for an entire event.
