I got a gig to do next Saturday all by myself.

I just found out today at a meeting it's alright for me to do this event next Saturday where this promoter lives at in his backyard. Actually the landlord said it was fine. I'm looking forward to this because it's been months since I did an event. Facebook live is ok. Just nice to get to do a live event in front of people. The promoter saw me once doing an event for seniors at the senior center in Montclair, NJ. Not much to show but that I'm a DJ.

This one the committee gets to see me in action and whoever else comes there. He wants me there at 10am to setup and we get to relax for a while before the event gets started. I will be doing this one alone. He gave me a small play list of songs he wants played. I couldn't read everything he had on the list. I told him to write it out so I can see it better.

My friend gave me a great suggestion for the last song at the event. I just have to get it. Quincy Jones We Are The World. That's a great song to end with confidence what's going on in the world right now. This should be a lot of fun.

Cancel me DJing for the event next Saturday. The guys landlady said she doesn't want a DJ in the backyard and she would call the police. She wants no more than 20 people in the backyard and she doesn't want her husband to help cook. Somebody did something and blamed him for it cursing him out. He said he has a setup he uses and he will use that. He still wants me to come. No problem with me coming. I was excited because it was going to be months since I did a gig and now I don't have one. Oh well life goes on. Something else will come along.

I'm not in control. He's talking to me husband and see what he says. Either way I will be fine. It just would have been nice to get to do an event. Right now it's still pending because he said he was going to talk to the husband. So right now who knows. It's just that it would be nice to get back in action. I truly miss doing private events for people.

Well right now I don't know how it's going to work out. I may or may not be doing the event as a DJ. He still wants me to come and hang out if I don't play for the event. No biggie with me showing up.

That's great. I hope things turn out well for you and the client. Right now things are on shakey ground with doing events because things are crazy right now with the situation we're all in.

Played a wedding last night, and have club dates in the near future
I got to say anybody getting work out there getting back to business kudos to all of you! Billy Joel said a great thing with the song Keeping The Faith. That's where I'm at.

I believe you meant USA for Africa...Quincy Jones was the producer

I think the actual song was "We are the World" .. the cause was "USA for Africa" ..
