Ah, so you haven't been to lighting companies? Makes sense.

We have a ton of great resources for chinese lighting and we do our homework. Perhaps the audio made in in China is worse but perhaps because of the competition, they lighting is better. Not sure.

I can only report on what is stated on my facebook page regarding chinese lighting.

Does that include actually visiting the factories? You haven't said as much therefore I am assuming not. That doesn't mean you didn't find a good factory. ADJ and Chauvet products are designed and built by many different factories so it is not hard to believe you found a factory that builds or once built some of their products. ADJ and Chauvet are relatively small companies. I guarantee you that they are not magically luckier with their Chinese suppliers than all the other larger companies I have dealt with. They have to work at it. If you are lucky, you will be able to reap the fruits of their labor for quite a while. But should things change, you don't sound like you are big enough to have the clout to influence change with the factory. You sound perfectly fine with that risk. Others are probably less so.

I suspect the quality standards you're willing to accept for DJ class products are substantially different than what I or others might want on our job sites.
The mere fact that something "works" does not speak to the full qualitative measure of the work it is capable of doing.

Correct! I know you were trying to extend a polite "dig" on those of us who use this type of lighting. And that's okay. And yes, they are perfectly fine for what I do and for what my clients want to see. The uplighting we use from China is great. It works perfectly and is nice and bright.

So, yes. This type of lighting is perfect for us.

That's simply not true. These chinese manufacturers are some of the same who are building for Chauvet, ADJ, etc... These companies would not allow "dirt floors", for one minute. Not sure when you visited but so much has changed in the last 4 years.

It's all about where you buy from. Most of us know where to buy and where not to buy.

Recommendations as to where to buy Chinese lights from?

Third door from street, right side of alley.

Knock 4 times, wait for 5 knock response, then knock twice and wait for approved entry. Once inside, enter second door to left marked Cleaning Supplies and proceed up three flights of stairs to landing and wait for your personal sales rep to come get you..it seems legit.

So those of you that use the wireless Chinese pars for uplighting, these fixtures from Bothlighting.com seem to have the receiver built in. However, do you ever have issues with people running into it etc due to how it's positioned?36864
