I bought a few things this week to use for the business.

I said I wasn't going to buy stuff right now but I did. I bought a hot spot on Ebay and it came yesterday. I had to buy one because my old one stopped working and my phone is poor with getting online. So I will see if I can get it to work or not. I also bought a bunch of 10 feet power cords so I don't have to worry about trying to stretch the ones we have now. I believe I bought 18 off of Ebay and I also bought another light stand to use. I'm taking pictures, videos and providing lights for an event that my friend and his mentor are doing on November 27th in Kenilworth, NJ at the Veterans Center. My plan for the light stand is start using the lights already have to build on and when the money is available buy more lights. Possibly 2 moving heads that can fit on a light stand.

So you are buying stuff that you may use one time and don't really have a business plan to make money on the items you are buying. Meanwhile you have gear that looks like it came out of a garage that had flood damage and you do nothing to fix that first. Great plan.

I'm going to be kind to you sir even though I don't want to. For your info I will be using the stuff I bought more then just one time and go back and read what I said. I will be buying the new grills next month because I know that's what you're talking about. I also bought another Furman. Right now I'm going to ask you nicely to please be kind I'm going through an awful lot and don't need a beat down right now. Thank you sir. I have something else to buy and that is Velcro. The one I bought was the wrong kind. It was sticky like glue. I had to cut it off on Thursday because it was so sticky. I threw the rest in the garbage. Honestly I bought this stuff to fill a void right now. I needed to do something to make me feel good right now to pick up my spirit. Which is why I did the memorial for my mother on Thursday.

What's going on right now is I have to get prepared for my radiation treatments for my Prostate Cancer and also I miss my mother. I haven't cried a lot but that doesn't mean I don't miss her. Have a nice day DJ Jimmy D.

Great what is your business plan to marked the lights and sell them to clients? How much are you going to charge for this awesome light show on top of the DJ portion?

Since you asked not that I have to tell you anything. Nothing right now and that's because for one just want to start using them to get some nice pictures to show to people and those lights are OK. They are not $1,000 moving heads and the like. Now I know you're going to beat me up for what I just posted but I'm not scared of you and I really don't care what you say. Just do you super star DJ and leave me alone. I don't have time to fight with you tonight. I got more important things to do. You're not that important to me. Now that's not my ego talking. You do you and keep it moving Mr.

Mix I think what he is trying to say is in business you should have the plan to make money with purchases. No one is telling you don't buy the stuff if it makes you happy have at it.

How much have you made off these items you bought almost 3 years ago?

How did the $500 Facade work out?

I have a studio in my house I do voiceovers from it. It's as elaborate as some FM radio studios. Over the last 7 years I've sunk a few thousand in to it and in the run of a year I might make enough to pay the extra power it burns. It's a hobby that takes in a few bucks but to call it a business would make me an inept business owner. Maybe someday it will be more for now it's a hobby

I was being kind with what I said. I'm tired of him always ragging on me. I don't allow nobody to put me down all the time. I was waiting so I could get to say this. He does it all the time with me and before on the other board. There are others who have said they have seen Jimmy post things he's done on these forums. I have never seen anything he's posted. I'm giving him 2 weeks to show me something he has done and stop running off at the mouth bragging about what he has done. I've never even seen a picture of him. At least I'm not scared to post some things I've done. I'm calling him out. If he doesn't show me anything by that time he can miss me with his post on a thread I make or something I post on a thread. He reminds me of Bob a bit. He has a big ego. His ego is out of the universe!

Now I didn't look hard enough for the cords and found some more stuff I could use on Ebay. That was me being in a rush buying stuff.

You bought cords so you wouldn't have to stretch the ones you have, yet you only bought 10' cords?

Gotta stay positive when you have cancer - buying gear for the future does that.

I've had a bad health year myself and totally get it. I'm not booking much for next year...depression? fear/ Realistic? I can't say. I can say that i'm re-evaluating things at the moment.
Thankfully, I don't have cancer (as far as the doctors have told me so far)

Mint sorry you are going through all of this stuff but buying gear just to buy gear still makes zero sense.

The assumption is if you being rushed to buy cords on eBay and bought 18, you paid very little for each one. Skimping on power cables can come back to bite you in the behind. Longer length, lower gauge cords are going to be better, heavier, longer lasting, harder to lose. More expensive yes, but worth it.

Ask yourself why you were in a rush buying stuff. It should be the exact opposite. Write down things you think you need. Does the business really need it? Do you need 18? Can the business income justify the expense? Is this really a business or a hobby? If it's a hobby, how much of your income are you willing to sink into this hobby?

I've never had an issue with any computer power cords. Other cords yes. That's when I bought some cheap ones. I've also had great success with some that didn't cost an arm and a leg.
