To be honest: For the $60 or so with tax that I spent on these stands. They came with a carry bag. It's a cheap carry bag that is thin, but it WORKS. It's the lightest stands/bag combo I have had before. That is because the on Stage Stands bags are very thick, and padded so they weigh more.
In the past I had a very old paid or on stage stands I purchased back in like 2000. Those lasted me about 9 years. I think I paid like $120 for the pair back then (much more expensive for stands back then). The 2nd pair of stands I ever purchased were bought in 2005. That is the pair I am going to get rid of soon, and these rockville stands replaced. ...I got 14 years out of that pair before they became too worn down to continue using. I think I paid maybe $90 or so on that pair.
My 3rd set of on stage stands was purchased in 2009 to replace the 1st set. So that set is going on 10 years old now, and they still work fine. That par was probably about $90 or less.
I have purchased 3 on stage stands carry bags over the years. Price on bags ranged from $21.95 to $34.95.
This set was roughly $60 with tax, and came with the carry bag. ...Honestly, If I get 1 year out of the bag, I will consider that getting my money's worth! ...If the stands last me more than 2 years, I will be happy considering the price I paid. ....I really do think they are better built than the on stage stands are though. I guess time will tell, but the parts seem more durable to me than the plastic parts on the on stange stands.
I also have a single Pro Line series basic metal stand from Guitar Center. ...It's the heaviest stand I own. I bought it because I needed a stand to mount the ADJ Starburst light on. I also use it from time to time for a ceremony or cocktail hour ...I have used it maybe 20 times in 3 years, and it still looks and works like new. I think I paid $39.99+ tax for it.
I also have a air assisted on stage stand with TV mounting bracket that I use for mounting a TV for karaoke. That is still new. Only been used once. That cost me $70.
Overall, stands are inexpensive. ...If the Rockville ones last 3 or more years, I will consider it totally worth the money. That is $20/yr with a bag included. Can't beat that!
I'm not out setting up for gigs 2-3 times a week either these days. The stands probably won't get used on more than 50 gigs a year, and probably less than that. In 3 years/150 gigs or less in that time. For $60....I would say totally worth the investment. And if these Rockville stands end up lasting 9 or 10 years...That would be fantastic!
