Damn. 8K. I wonder what the discount would be for those as I believe they are a parent company of GC. For certain items depending on the price they give a 15% discount. If and when you buy them please let us know what are your thoughts. Bassboss is a serious brand.

I was at the Expo in Atlantic City a few years back and they had a room on the second floor full of Bassboss speakers. It was mind blowing!

Mix, are you suggesting there is a relationship between GC and Sweetwater? If so, you are poorly informed.

This Bassboss design follows a similar 3-way design format QSC uses for their KC12. In other words, it doesn't try to stack small speakers and call it an array. However, it comes in at 3x the weight and only a dB higher in SPL. The key difference is how low it goes. It gets you 10 Hz lower at the low end. The larger drivers and extra power should be able to push a lot more air. This may be important for a club but not a typical wedding.

I'm not sure if it's Sweetwater or another company GC is linked to. I do know there's a company linked to GC. I will say when I saw that room with all those Bassboss speakers I was blown away! I know I can't afford any of those speakers. If I could I wouldn't know where to keep them.

Can that really be true? Maybe it truly is just how low it goes and our ears perceive a loud low frequency as louder - but I would be stunned if those solutions were actually within a db of each other.

If not sure, why waste time saying something that’s not true? Maybe check before posting. Maybe you are thinking of GC being linked to Musicians Friend.

Did you and your partner pick up subs yet?

No we didn't and thanks for your post. I just couldn't remember the other store.

The specs are really incomplete. Neither manufacturer says much about how that spec was measured. In other words did they measure in full-space (4Pi), half-space, quarter-space? Was this a continuous test or a burst test? What frequency was measured? What weighting was used? What was the distortion level at the published SPL? Without this information, it is hard to make direct comparisons.

One of the best tests for output level comparisons is AES-75 which was developed by Meyer Sound (M-Noise) and ratified by the AES in 2022. However, few manufacturers have adopted it so far. It is a noise test where the noise has a spectral probability density function that mimics modern music.
