How many of you get asked this question?

Yes! And their first response is usually....."Oh...that makes sense."

Typo....or Freudian slip?
I meant she as in the lady Mix was talking to asking the question. She meant it in a what kind of residency at a club do you have, or which nightlife places do you frequent. I don't think this question had any relevance to the private event industry.... at least from her perspective. If Mix was asking it in a private event capacity, well I just don't think it's a common question since dj's are more known for specializing in certain events, not certain locations.

Let's be clear. If I'm gonna call some chick of of the blue and see how it goes, I'm gonna use a better line than, "I'm a DJ.

I'm the president of an entertainment company😄

I never get asked where I play. Also have never phone stalked a chick either.

To be fair, Mix could have gone with "van-driving stage sitter". so maybe DJ is a major step up ..

I guess Dj sounds better than:
"I buy subs and speakers I can't lift and don't need for gigs I don't have and people that don't even show up for the free gigs. But they're covered.
I've got more issues than Vogue magazine.
I'm a ticket broker. Meaning I'm broker than anyone because of parking tickets.
I got 2 vehicles..... numbers
BTW, you don't know anyone that works at White Castle, do you?

Yes, but 40-4000 sounds more impressive than Mix's 4-40 ... :)
[/QUOTE]It does Steve. Just keep in mind at a lot of the events we do we only control what we do. We don't control the size of the crowd. It's not our event and we don't advertise for a private event. So who shows up at someone else's event is on them, not us. If we're told the crowd is to be 50 people are 5 people show up that's not on us. What our concern is how much are we getting paid to do our job. That's what's important.
