Much better year than 2020 was! I have my last event of 2021 on the calendar this Saturday! Nothing scheduled in December, and honestly, I am okay with that. I wouldn't mind booking at least 1 in December though.

I actually kept Thanksgiving weekend off. The family and I are headed to Williamsburg for a 3 night trip! We are also headed back to Williamsburg for a 2 night trip the 2nd weekend in December. We just purchased our tickets to Busch Gardens Winter Fest, and are excited to go! I have never been to a theme park in the winter time!

My next scheduled wedding is April 23rd, 2022 at the moment. I am talking with a bride tonight about a February wedding. If that one books then I will have one in February, and I have not had a February wedding in years! My May of next year looks to be the busiest May I have had in at least the last 5 years!

So looking at the numbers last night. Unless something happens to my last 3 gigs in December I'll be above 2019 top line by ~$3-5K.

I'm doing my last wedding of the season this weekend as of now nothing booked in December. If I book one every day in December I'll still be down from 2019 but to be fair it was mid July before things opened up here enough to hold events so a lot of what I did have postponed/cancelled all together. It looks like 2022 will be OK and booking season is usually November-January here. I have had a lot of inquiries this week including 4 weekday inquiries none of them pulled the trigger yet

In 2021 I only did 50 events... in 2019 I worked harder than I ever did with 75 events. My avg event is just slightly higher by $10 in 2021 than 2019... but the biggest difference is my expense ratio. In 2019 my expenses accounted for 30% of my revenue... in 2021 my expenses are 22%. I've come to accept I'll probably never make the same net income as I did in 2019, but I also do not ever want to work that much either (In 2019 I had 7 triples AND a week w 5 events in a row... now I refuse triples with exception of 2 that were schedule well in advance). It is also why I've invested a bit in other forms of income to supplement. Also, with my price increases and expense reductions, the income gap is actually not that far off. With all my cars paid off too, my discretionary income is relatively the same.
