Hi Guys,

Tapatalk recently released a premium option where by we can have our own distinct app separate from Tapatalk's network. Basically the app would only work for ODJT and not other Tapatalk enabled sites. The app would have our logo, choice of color scheme, etc. It's not very expensive and I think it would be neat to have our own app.

I have a ticket into their support department but my understanding is if I utilize the BYO app, ODJT would no longer be accessible from the standard Tapatalk app. That means if you still want to follow ODJT on Tapatalk you would need to download our app. If you follow/post to more than one Tapatalk enabled forum you would need both apps installed which is silly.

If you're a Tapatalker please vote in the poll so I can see if it's worth it or a waste of time.

Thanks,
Dan

I use Tapatalk while mobile (or on my iPad while couch surfing). I have 5 or 6 forums, but really only check 2 .. this and Sid's board.

I belong to several other DJ forums (accessed thru Tapatalk), but rarely post on the others.
I also belong to a Jeep forum where quite a few people post but never respond to anyone else's posts... I really like that about Jeep people!

Me too...The only problem is when you type ourdjtalk even in a PM it comes up as ********* lol.

I think I only follow here on my phone. I looked for Sid's board but couldn't find it but I did on the Ipad. If there was an app I'd uninstall Tapatalk I'm not a big fan I basically only use it to moderate or answer a PM. I don't know that I ever posted from it

I use Tapatalk all day long to read and post on this forum, and occasionally on others, as you can see at the bottom of most of my posts ("Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk"). There are a few tasks that are a little easier to do from a computer, so I do occasionally use my office computer. I have Sid's forum on my iPhone (in Tapatalk) as well, and I read yours and Steve's posts there from time-to-time throughout the day.[emoji4]

It's an app/"super forum" that lets you subscribe to forums and message board sites and view and respond to them on a mobile device. Optimized for mobile. I still prefer to see the regular site, though. I almost always bypass the "optimized" version and just use the regular site on my mobile device of choice. Everything else looks weird to me (like they're trying to hide something!)...

I'm playing with tapatalk on my new iPad right now I have to say I like the interface and the ability to catch up on multiple forums at once. Not a huge fan of touch typing on this thing though. WPM is decent but I would've been done with this post a two minutes ago on a real keyboard.

My only qualm is turning over my login to a third party (Tapatalk) especially on sites where I have moderator or admin permissions.

Tapatalk screwed up another update. With this recent update you can’t click on a picture to view it, zoom in, or save it. What a PITA!!!... Every time they release a new version, they screw something up.[emoji1] They usually fix it in a subsequent release, but then they screw up something else. Job security I guess.

TaT released an update to it's XenForo plugin. It's mostly for compatibility with the upcoming XF 2.1 release but maybe they accidentally fixed something. :D

BTW, XenForo 2.1 is going to include native push notifications. Of course Apple doesn't play ball on iOS for either Safari or 3rd party browsers.

TapaTalk stopped working this afternoon on ODJT. Says "Plugin Version Error. Contact your admin to complete the installation". It works with other forums, so it must be an ODJT problem.
