How many lumens is your projector. Are you happy with the brightness and do you project monograms onto dance floor or wall. What is the minimum brightness you would recommend.

For slideshows I use a 2400 lumens.

Monograms -1800.

Both are plenty bright enough.

Contrast ratio and native resolution are just as important, IMO.

For monograms, the amount of keystoning is crucial.

Choose a brightness (and other specs) that match where (typical room) and how (size screen or surface, what you are projecting) you are using the projector, as well as what other lighting you are using. Remember, in a DJ show, the video is simply more visual display and should not over or underpower your lights. They should all be complementary. Besides, without a lot of study, ratings are quite deceptive.

My projector is 2500 lumens. Short throw lens makes a 100" diagonal in just 4'.

It has a high contrast ratio as well, although I don't recall off hand what it is.

Here's a pic from a recent gig:

I say if you have the extra $$$ get 4K ANSI Lumens. I have the EIKI XB40 and when I load mine up for a demonstration they feel anything less than 4K would be potentially disastrous. Unless you are doing Home Theater work, 2500 ANSI Lumens is the norm there.

Any projector you are getting? Get ahold of Ben or I, we would be happy to do the measurements for you and help pick out some model nums. Ben is likes BenQ, I'm an EIKI or Hitachi Man.

I'm running the XB40, which has been replaced by LC-XB42, which actually is BRIGHTER and actually around $700 cheaper, according to the street prices. BTW: The XB42 will require only 9.5 feet to fill a 6x8 (120" diagonal) screen. WOW!!!
