Hopefully the elevator will be working this time.

Won’t be long there will be a post about how the speaking portion went too long so everybody left,
Some do stay but normally the speaker portion runs for a bit of time and when that part is over a lot of people are tired and ready to go. I don't have no control over that.

I mentioned to a committee that I'm a member of about the speaker portion being too long. I got told that in this area people don't party or dance. A dear friend and great DJ told me it happens to him regularly and to just do the job you're getting paid to do and that's it. Whoever stays just do your best for them and when it's over just pack up and leave.

How much does this gig pay

Something you wouldn't agree to do it for and I mean no disrespect. I will be getting paid the same amount the last DJ was paid. Let me leave it at that because some won't understand my reason for doing this event for that price.

A member was there said he has the key to the elevator. So hopefully we can use the elevator.
Absolutely amazed that you can do all that while on full disability for a back injury.

Most people with full disability for a back problem can't stand for more than a few minutes and certainly can't. You, must be a miracle or someone who knows how to work the system.

Give money back to the area? Now THAT is funny! They ain't giving NUTTIN back.
Again like I told someone else on here if you don't know what you're talking about please be quiet. The aim for the committee is to get the seed money back to plan for another event. Anything above that is profit and the committee normally gives that money to the area they serve.

What would these New Jersey committees actually do if bottom feeders didnt exist? Like if Taso or Posh DJ's were the standard pricing...

Youve created a financial rock bottom to you and your dj colaborative by being suckers.

You'd be far more wise to do this all FREE as some form of charity work and atleast not owe taxes... not that any of us believe you are paying taxes

Not that I'm here to defend Mix he can do that all on his own but honestly these folks don't need or want Taso or anyone close. I've said all along done correctly there's a solid business plan for someone in Mix's position but it needs far more work than he can or will put in

It's not about NJ. It's about the fellowship as a whole. Their budget to put on these events is less than 1k. That's more than what Taso would want to do an event for them. As for Posh DJs I saw a ad on craigslist about them looking for DJs to do events for their company and want to only pay $250 is what I saw. They to me are just a step above the old Solid Gold company years ago that took money from clients and stiff the DJ on their pay.

The committee that I'm a member of their budget to put on events is $700 and that's it. So out of that money they have to pay for a place to have the event, buy food for the event and other things needed for the event. Then pay a DJ to do the event. After the event they have to make at least the $700 back so they can get that money back to plan for another event. That's it. So they can't take all the money and spend it on a DJ.

If this event is a fund raiser, then the idea is to continue increasing how much is raised - not to raise the exact same amount of money each time. If you continue to raise the same amount, then something needs to change to generate more - and this usually means the committee needs to spend more. It takes money to make money. It also takes a gamble, as nothing is guaranteed.

i dont honestly think he has any idea whats going on... if they are reraising this magic number of 700 and throwing the rest in the wind all because they somehow want to stay on a perpetual 700 dollar budget... then they are the worst committee ever...lol
