Y'all are a buncha negative Nellys.

Just I few days ago, I received a notice that I'd be receiving millions of dollars from a Nigerian benefactor for merely providing his associate with all my financial and identification information...well, I mean I haven't received it yet, but they promised and assured me it was in process, so there!

And when I get that money, Imma buy me some used dj gear from my friend's cousin's neighbor and then I'll really be in biz-niz.

The better deals are from the friend's cousin's ex-wife's step-niece's boyfriend's neighbor .. got to shop around ...

But he live's a really really REALLY sketchy area where I once paid to go to a party.
You mean you charge OTHERS to come to your party ...

I find If I need to send money for a great deal to an unknown source, or if the IRS calls to tell me about an immediate tax bill due that I knew nothing about, gift cards are the best way to complete these transactions😄

Phone numbers can be spoofed. You never know where the call is REALLY coming from.

These guys spoof local numbers constantly. I used to answer non-contacts from my area code. You never know if it's a friend calling from another friend's phone or jail ( :sqlaugh: ) but no more. My phone automatically sends no caller ID (Restricted or Private) to voicemail. Unless I'm expecting a phone call all non-contact calls get kicked to voicemail too. It's mostly people who want to tell my car warranty has expired but they have a great rate for an extended one. Sometimes they generously offer help with student loan debt. Neither of which apply to me.

It looks like the carriers are finally going to be doing something about it. Only after it's been a problem for a decade and the FCC squeezes them! FCC pushes carriers to implement caller ID authentication by 2019 - (https://www.engadget.com/2018/11/06/fcc-caller-id-authentication-2019/)

Now I got to say you need to get out more often. 2 DJ friends of mine just had a party at a lodge in Orange, NJ on Main Street and it cost $25 to attend the party. The party was geared towards a older crowd. Their aim for the party was to give an older crowd somewhere to go to have fun and not worry about a fight breaking out or something else crazy like that happening.

I hope they were paying those ASCAP/BMI/SESAC fees that promoters (anyone who charges for a party included) have to pay ...

[email protected] my limited 5+ decades of living in a city that parties like no other, I can proudly and withour fear of contradiction state that I have NEVER been invited to nor performed at a private party at which the hosts charged a fee to attend.

I guess you need to attend parties hosted by true hosts.

Besides cover charges at clubs, tickets to concerts and shows, and charitable fund raisers, I have NEVER been in the company of a host that uses a truly private party to line their personal pockets.

Mix had a bridge,,,, how much did it cost to cross it?
One's sanity .

Alternatively, if you are knowlegable about Assyrian cities

You said it. Private party. This is not a private party. A private party is where you specifically invite only certain people to come. This party was open to the public. The feature was it being for mature adults and not the drama for your mama people.

I been getting calls all day from scammers. One kept calling me about lowering my electric bill. It's not in my name.

Another one called telling me a company is sueing me for 8k and a law office is handling this. The person on the phone asked me who do I owe money to? Some national something bureau. I kept asking who is the company and the person on the phone wouldn't tell me? I asked again and they hung up the phone.

They said the company was taking me to court in my state. If it was a real call they wouldn't have asked me who do I owe money to. They would already have that info. People keep trying all kinds of tricks to get your identification and money from you. Just got to pay attention and keep your game up.

I had to make this post before I leave. I keep getting a phone call talking about lowering my electric bill. The bill is not in my name first of all. Next I get a call from the same number telling me this is from a dating site and want me to join. I guess they think I wouldn't recognize both calls are from the same number.

I have true call and it lets me know when it's a scam call. When it lights up in red that's another way to tell it's a scam caller. What will they try next? Great thing for the cellphone true call!
