Got me a beautiful Bluetooth LED strip for my facade, but I can't decide on the best configuration. Anyone got some suggestions?

So far I think the best way is depicted in the picture like this _Π_ around the facade. But I'm not sure if the strip should be on top of the frame facing up or on the front of the frame facing the audience.

Same with the sides... On the frame edge facing out or on the frame front facing the audience?

Never ask a question you don't want to hear to an answer to.

Looks like a game show booth at a carnival. If anything, and you simply must incorporate these way out of date rope lights into your system, run it along the bottom of the facade and alongside your wires on the floor to the speaker so nobody trips. Call it a safety enhancement.

If it's for weddings, can you loop it to spell Love (cursive) on the front? :)

I'm asking for advice. It's not always going to be one color. It has various sound activated modes and colors designs.

They are not out of date rope lights. They are new LED strip lights.

I don't think Cap was being negative - his point is that while they may be new to you, this technology has been around and in use for a long time. Rope lights and strip lights can be interchanged - the difference is the bulb.

Regardless, I also think there's a better way to display them. Steve's idea was a good one. If you have 2, you could try wrapping them up the speaker poles - might look nice. That's a big 'might'.

Not all DJ's are going for the conservative look... I've seen some pretty bodacious lighted facades that look like a PARTY going on![emoji1] ...

... [emoji1]Interesting choice of music for the video.

If you're a high energy, party DJ, then the light strip is fine IMO. Not appropriate for some events (funerals[emoji1]), and I would NEVER point the lights directly at the audience.[emoji4] Have some fun with them. Even if you mount them permanently, surely you can turn them off if they are not needed?... Are they dimmable?

There seemed to be a bit of snark in Caps response and it didn't really but me too much.

Dimmable and decent customized programs through an app.
DreamColor Music LED Strip Lights Built-in Digital IC,MINGER 16.4ft Sync to Music Waterproof RGB Rope Light with APP, 12V 5050 RGB Flexible Strip Lighting for Indoor Home Kitchen Bedroom Holiday Party https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798NG8KJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QUZ9Ab2ZQZN1G

The idea is stick the included tabs on the facade for easy install and removal of the light strip.

There is no way I can lay this along the inside on the bottom to help with the skrim transparency because the facade is designed with the skrims Velcro'd flush to the back of the frame.

If I can't figure out a non-cheesy solution, then I'll prob just return it and wait until I invest in a battery par system like the Chauvet Freedom H1s and put one inside the facade or the Freedom Sticks on the either side of me. Most likely still gonna get the Sticks and would need to figure out the best way to wirelessly DMX them to my Swarm Wash FX.

I need a lightweight and compact solution to appear larger... Originally thought of getting the Chauvet Motion Facade but heard it was very flimsy and difficult to program with DMX.

The orange handle straps (easily visible on the zoom-in) are where I typically clamp the Swarms facing up.02904207fd1f6c5045ceea7124960589.jpg

I'd return it, as I don't see any way to make that strip NOT look cheesy.
Any kind of light bar inside the façade would look much more respectable.

Tested configurations and liked this one... Will complete the setup this evening at a small wedding gig.20180519_131739.jpeg20180519_131746.jpeg

Unfortunately, I agree with what most everyone has said, In my opinion, it has the look of a marque board but I don't see any content inside the square. IMO, it doesn't help the overall aesthetics of the setup. You could do better, but that probably will cost more money.
What about putting the lighting behind the scrim facing? Will the light shine through?

The scrim is Velcro'd flush to the edge on the back with Velcro running the full length of the frame. Would have to remove some of the Velcro on the frame to attach the strip. Then the scrim wouldn't be taut. When looking from the front...

Decent configuration but still not perfect... Need a better solution...Shutta_20180520_160151.jpeg20180519_225439.jpeg20180519_182528.jpeg
