Hey guys, i'm a younger DJ looking for some guidance and help. I like all kinds of music excluding SOME country, MOST screamo, and MOST Classic rock. I've only been DJing for 4 months. In my first 4 months I have DJd one party with around 50 people (was a fun way to start out). Right now I am using a Numark Mixtrack Pro (New guy much?), but after the holidays I am upgrading to 2 Technics SL1200MKIIs Traktor Scratch Pro and a Behringer NOX202 Pro or NOX404 pro. (If you have any better mixers in the 200-250 price range, please point them out:D) A family friend of mind DJd for 30 years and is going to show me some of his tips and tricks with vinyl. When not DJing, I am a full time student. I also own a smaller fashion accessories business. Off the side of that, I do Graphic Designing. Anyway, thanks for reading and I am sure I will enjoy my time here!

What kind of DJ are you looking to be? Parties/Clubs, or Events/Weddings? You could obviously do all of them, but most DJ's tend to gravitate to one or the other ;)
Welcome aBOARD hehe. Get it? Since this is a board? haha... I crack myself up.

Seriously though, welcome to the site ;)

I'm leaning more towards parties and clubs. :)

Thanks guys.

Cool cool... I have worked in clubs for 17 out of the 21 years I have DJ'd, and I have pretty much seen it all... from 4000+ people unexpectedly showing up, to Redman beating up my sound man. So if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)

Syntax your looking for a two Ghannel battle mixer then right? Welcome to the forum. I would recommend Pioneer, Denon or A&H as the best precision mixers out there. I happen to favor Denon but others make great product. I would prefer the listed above the Behringer just me and my Looney cents.

I would actually say that Rane, Vestax, and Allen & Heath make the best 2-channel mixers out there. Denon is great, Pioneer is great... but they are more for mixologists like myself than turntablist battle DJs. Rane is probably the best IMO.

I am not sure you will find a GOOD one under $200 though. I used a Behringer X700 for years and loved it, until I got my DN-X1500. I paid $800 for it USED lol
Despite their rep, I think behringer make some damn good mixers. I beat the crap out of my X700 and the fader never bled or went out on me. The only thing that sucks on them are effects... but if you are using timecode, then you couldn't use a lot of them anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

As I am writing this I am also looking for some decent 2-channel mixers for you that are under $200. Can you extend your budget a bit? Say... $650?
Because I am also looking for some digital MIDI mixers, and the Denon DN-X200 looks beyond sick. Here is a review on Scratchworx, which is kinda THE authority on DJ gear reviews.

Unfortunatly, I can't raise my budget. Thanks for all the help though.
