Having trouble choosing a new facade

I really hope it's not that long. I have a wedding this Saturday, and a Wedding on the 16th. I would like to get some photo/video with it this month.

...I do have a Casino ballroom event the night before Thanksgiving, but would prefer to showcase it in a wedding setting.
I'm assuming you ordered this 6-8 weeks ago ... :)

So I finally got the new PlexiGlass Facade in. I like it a lot. My only complaint is that Dragon Frontboards used Plastic clear Henges to keep everything together. I feel like the henges were just glued on using a clear glue. Must be careful when handling this facade.

Anyway,

Here are the pics.

This pic taken during cocktail hour which was in same room. This facade is 14 inches tall instead of 16 inches like my previous one. Can see the full laptop backs now which gives me the ability to to put laptop decals on (If I want to) and those decals be seen.

Compare to my older 52 inch Grundorf Facade set up on a same size 6 foot table.

New Facade in Action. ...I need to find a way of getting my bar light further away to illuminate more of the Facade. However, I don't know if I can do that due to laptop stands and mixer being on the table. I think only thing I can do is buying another bar light realistically. Or I can put a par light on each side of the bar light, BUT then I need to find room for my 2 wireless mic receiver boxes.

Looks clean .. (though there is that midair hanging wire on the right speaker in the first pic :) ).

How about LED tape lighting behind the facade instead of a fixture?

I like the idea of the led tape lighting - that would have matched the led light around the 'rock' part of the column.

Yeah, I fixed that. I think I did any way ...I had just plugged in the power to that Gobo Laser light directly into my light controller, and it's like 4 feet long. I wish lights came with much longer cords, or they gave you the option to order a much longer cord. I had just finished setting this stuff up when I had to run back out to the ceremony to get ready for it to start. Spent my entire 90 minutes setting up on this one for ceremony and reception. Load into the venue also has 7 stairs to deal with so everything was carried in multiple trips. I got my work out!

This particular venue is new (before was old BFW, but was remodeled to be a wedding venue), but owned by a very good catering company I have worked with in their other venues in the past. The only issue with their venues is they only give vendors 90 minutes access prior to start time for set up so when I do weddings in their venues, I know I can't set up a hole lot of lighting. Also, the ceremony is down a steep hill with no power unless you want to run 200+ feet of extension cord back to the building. II had to bring that new portable battery pack I purchased for ceremony.

Ceremony outside in 48 degree windy weather on the Chesapeake Bay ...Coldest Out door Ceremony I have ever done! The photographer said the bridesmaids nipples were hard LMAO Other than the cold ceremony, this couple was wonderful to work for!

Glad you finally got it....glad you dig it... i honestly think im more a fan of the old one...though im not particularly a fan of table top facades... the new one sorta reminds me of a poster board science fair project... atleast in the pic...im sure it reads differently in person

id recommend bringing a white table scrim to give this the sleekest look...

Yeah, I had white in my car, but the venue already had the table set up with matching linen to the bride's wedding colors. I just don't want to be a ass about how the table looks if they already have a neat linen that goes to the floor. Plus, that is one less thing I nave to do (bring in my linen to put on table) ...I'm not picky about the venue's linen, just as long as it goes to the floor.

The new one is definitely cleaner looking but I still think u would’ve been better served by going for a full facade not tabletop.

Probably never going to happen. I am strapped for room as is in my Traverse. Also, the ones I wouldwant weigh a ton, and more than 60% of the venues I get booked at have stairs involved.

I like the Rockville Spandex Facade as it is light weight, and looks real clean, but I hear that those types of facades have issues with velcro coming undone every couple of months. Then if someone walks by with a drink and spills soda all over it, you gotta take the fabric off, and deal with bleaching and washing after so many gigs.

...And I would stlll have the issue of finding room for that large carry bag in my vehicle. ...Basically, gigs where I can bring less equipment, I can bring it out, but the larger gigs or 3 system weddings I would not be able to use the facade. ...BUT I can use a table topper facade at every event I do.

that is the beauty of a full sized facade... you never have to worry about showing up and feeling pressured to use some tacky table cloth the venue provides....ur facade will cover it.... just remember...you are NOT the cake table.... you dont have to match if your alternative will make your set up look less like someone using whatever table is available... we bring a service that provides ....not borrows.... always bring ur own table....something you trust.... i learned that lesson in the first 2 years i dj'd and was a "borrower"... got a table from a venue that collapsed on me.... never again...

you also are hindered by whatever size they provide... too big or too small and your facade will look odd
