So thanks to one of my hobbies, I got sliver piece of plastic stuck in the SD card slot on my Nikon D3200( I left the door open), anyways, removed it but now it wont read the SD cards, so called one local repair place and without having in their person, they said probably around $200 to fix.

I can get a new body for like $300, so I think I am now in the market for a new body.

I have a T1I and the primary lens has started to fail. I'm undecided if I want to replace / repair the lens or just get a better camera. :)

I've had this one since they came on the market.

I broke my first one (Nikon D40) and used that to move onto bigger and better ones. I went the Canon route and have a 60d, 7d, 7d mk2 and a 5d mk3. In actuality, it's the glass that you spend more on (I have over a dozen lenses). If you don't have many Nikon lenses, then you can look at either Nikon or Canon. If you do, stick with Nikon .. functionally, both lines are basically equivalent.

I was going to stick with Nikon since I do have a more than one lens (two ) , plus spare batteries and chargers, but yes, the glass is what you do spend more money , why I have yet to buy a decent lens, I would love too though.

Right now, I am kind of looking at the going up one to the D33oo, or maybe the D533300/5400 , still doing my research though.

Better off replacing, I bought my D320o as part of those cheap bundle deals you see on AmazBay ( Amazon/Ebay) and I paid under $400, so its going to cost me more than half to repair mine.

Black Friday is coming soon .. wait for that ..
True, and I was thinking about that, but I use my DSLR a lot, but I did just get a S8 not too long ago that has a decent camera I can use for the short term.

I am a Pentax man since I learned photography on one. Pentax is the only mid level DSLR with water and dust seal. It also has the anti shake in the camera so the benefit will work with any lens. Pentax is not quite as common as Nikon or Canon but have a good following.

Yeah, it is NOT worth repairing a lower end DLSR since most of the time, they don't get the repair right and it will go back in a few more times before they get it right.
Event the repair guy I talked with agreed with this, not being worth it part.

On the up side, I think I decided what I am going to replace it with.

I think I just need the lens - the camera is fine.
I would rather have to replace the lens than the camera body.........................Well, it depends on what lens it is and how much it is

My buddy has a mid to high level Pentax and it's a great camera

So yay I guess, I won a auction for a new ( according to the listing) Nikon D5300, won it for $490, got it for $4 less then the cheapest BIN listing, so I guess I win................

Is it really "winning" if you have to pay for it?[emoji1] I mean, yea... you placed the highest bid, but how hard is that?... If you had to arm wrestle for it, or something like that, then maybe you could call that a WIN, but just plopping down the largest wad of cash... that's not winning IMHO.[emoji1]It's like... I could go to the trophy shop and by myself a trophy, and then tell everyone I WON this trophy![emoji1] I bought a lottery ticket and won $4. I could go around telling people I won the lottery[emoji1]... but the ticket cost me $5... I lost $1... Winning -$1 is not winning![emoji1] You bought a camera dude... you didn't WIN it. Get over yourself![emoji1]
